Human Edge

Having returned from Limbo and with so much having happened throughout the day, it was time to report in. It was late and she might not like being disturbed, but Aly knew Anastasia would be more annoyed if he didn't keep her fully informed.

So, he had gone looking for her as soon as he'd returned.

From what he could gather, she was in her quarters.

On his way there, he sent her a message.

"I'm back from the Limbo facility, with new information."

The door was shut, but it seemed she was in.

He knocked.

After a moment, he heard her voice.

"Do come in."

He entered. "My apologies, if I'm disturbing you. But, I've been out and about all day."

"Oh don't stand on ceremony. You're so professional all the time."

She pivoted in her chair, and he discovered she was wearing little more than very tiny shorts, a very loose white tank top, and her hair.

Giving him a condescending look down her nose, she perched in her chair, one knee drawn up against her chest, creating interesting forms for the eye to examine, and added, "Tell me what you need - I won't get this prosthetic working any faster tonight anyway."

He noticed her arm, where it had been shot up... was no longer there, the sleeve hanging limp from the shoulder.

"It's the part of my upbringing that I've never been able to let go of, not for long." he shrugged. "Everything is up and running, power, heat, defenses, sensors and other systems. We don't have complete access yet, but we should soon. The sensors did pick up something approaching the planet. Three ships."

She ran her hand down her bare leg, sighing grumpily. No reaction at all.

"So it sounds like Luci screwed up some more - who is it this time?"
