James started to get ready to work on the Hornet. Mata was over by Locust, playing with her animal toys which mainly seemed be her hitting the metal snake-worm thing with the other animals.

The work order was fairly involved, but this mech was reparable, for sure.

----------- Mech Maintenance ------------

In a single time slot, a tech has 3 hours of useful time, or 180 minutes. They may perform as many full tasks as they can fit within that time frame - any leftover time can be used to partially complete a task, which should be noted, but a roll will not be attempted until the task has used the full time requirement.

A mech can get a free raise to lower the TN of a task by doubling, or get two by tripling, the amount of time required to complete the task. If another tech works with the first, they must also expend the same amount of time, but may roll and add 1/3rd (rounded down) of their roll to the lead tech's result. Only two techs can work on a specific task at once.

Work order:

Repair Mech Life Support System - 60 minutes - TN 25
Repair Heat Sink(RT) - 120 minutes - TN 20
Repair Jump Jet(LL) - 100 minutes - TN 10
Repair Mech Left Leg - 90 minutes - TN 20
Repair Mech Left Arm - 135 mintues - TN 25
Repair Mech Right Torso - 90 minutes - TN 20
Repair Mech Center Torso - 90 minutes - TN 20
Replace Standard Armor(head, 25min)(CT, 20 min)(CTR, 10min)(RT, 20min)(RTR, 10min)(RA, 5 min)(LA, 5min)(RL, 10min)(LL, 5min) -- TN 10

James focuses on the replacing the left arm. Best to take care of some of the timely and complex tasks first.

Hornet Repair Left Arm MechTech/Int TN 25: 10d10o10k4 38 180-135=45 minutes left

Rest of the time spent on RT Heat Sink

Theo joined in repairing systems, structure and armour throughout the center torso. "If it weren't for that big scorch mark by the cockpit you'd forget that-" some sparks flew as he tried to boot a computer. "...I guess those wires need to be replaced too... well, back to work."

Repair Hornet life support system 28 60 minutes
Repair Hornet Center Torso 36 90 minutes
Replace CT and CTR standard armour 32 and 34 20+10 minutes

"Well, once we are through, everyone will forget. No need for the warriors to think of the the previous pilot's failures."

"Yeah, a slight change of camo while we are at it wouldn't hurt. We know if this rock is more rocky or icy yet?" he said as he threw a tangle of burned out wires down into a scrap box.

"If I recall the briefing, we'll be going to both. Though I'm not too worried about the paint yet. The warriors seem to be painting the mechs whatever they like."

"Oh, well, so long as they are doing it..." he shrugged and laughed, "Camo only does so much when you are riding a 20 meter tall, well, 18 maybe... Hornets are a bit short... Anyways hiding a giant robot is not exactly the easiest thing!"

James nods. "That reminds me of a show I saw back in Rasa. It was called Steiner Scout Squad. It was just a bunch of Atlases popping up everywhere. Strange show."

"Yeah, I saw that on late at night a couple times... it is appropriately scheduled," he chuckled, "I should have packed some recordings. This far out in the Rim all we are going to pick up are weird religious broadcasts and maybe the local farm report..."
