Theo had finished his walk about the bays. Spent sometime eyeballing what was needed to fix the broken mechs and then cursed as James got drafted to talk to townies. He settled in to cross reference the mechs as they currently were versus the designs as outlined in the technical readouts on his noteputer. And then it happened.
He sipped from his coffee cup... but it was empty.

While she had visited the mech hanger earlier in the morning, she hadn't stayed long. Felicity had just done a visual check of her mech to make sure it wasn't damaged. It had been in the same spot and so on, so she'd been quite relieved. Still, her thinking had turned apprehensive after breakfast so now she was back to do a diagnostic check.
She was inside the cockpit, with the canopy up, and running an analysis. Everything appeared nominal.

Andrea had made her way down to the mech bay after having checked on the general ship safety, eager to check on Sly Calibre. Indeed she was letting the diagnostics run on her mech while doing an outside inspection of the Commando.

And now the mechwarriors were around to make sure their babies didn't break in the landing. He looked mournfully at the empty coffee cup and got up. "All mech systems are in working order except the Locust, Hornet and the Clint," he announced mostly for himself as he expected the mechwarriors were going to keep at it, "I spent a bit of time already hauling all the parts that scattered back in place." He gave a sad look towards the ruins of the Clint.

"Working is not the same as optimal, Vale?" Felicity calls back as she gets up and props her hands on the edge of her cockpit to support herself leaning out slightly. "Are we in the way somehow Theodore?"

"Optimal? That thing hasn't been optimal since the Succession wars started," he sighed, "I've never even heard of half the companies mentioned in the technical readout! But it still works. Even with a bit of Panther here and there like it seems to be."

Felicity outright glowered at the mechtech. "You know what I meant. Sure, she's old, but Kiara's performance still matches her specifications." If he was anyone but a mechtech she might have added a 'what do you know?' She had enough sense not to think she knew more than the Science grad. However, she didn't like her ride being insulted. Her glare lessened slightly as she took a deep breath.
"They just engineered them better back then. Better minds and technology, yea? Don't look down on her."

Andrea frowned and then sighed, "Sly has been in the family for at least a generation...and inherited when a loyal retainer of the family died without heir. My apologies if I have upset your mechbay technician but I need to check on him for my own piece of mind."
She was about part way back up the mech when the speaking had started, and now looked back at the DeTroyes coat of arms...modified with a single star at its top to mark her the third child. Another sigh and she made her way back up to lean into the cockpit and gaze at the diagnostics: clean on the first run.
Andrea reached in and started the diagnostics again.

"Indeed they did and now their great works are patched together so people can use them to smash things into dust," he leveled a look at Kiara, "That mech should be in a museum!"
He walked over to the Clint grumbling. "I left the Guard over this sort of nonsense. 'Optimize' my ancestral mech... mutter mutter..." He started sifting through boxes of collected parts, "Most are using the wrong subcomponents..."

"So should all mechs from the early succession wars and before. So what?" Felicity spat back. She wasn't giving this up. "Hey!" The mechtech walking away and grumbling to himself didn't please her one bit. It seemed Felicity would spend the whole day antagonizing people.
She activated her auto ladder and climbed out of her mech and down to the ground. "Don't just walk off after badmouthing my Kiara." The mechwarrior was stomping over to him.
