A woman mechwarrior in a tank top, briefs and a cooling vest buttoned down the access hatch of the CDA-3 in an adjacent bay, then strolled past where James was working on mech repairs. She nodded politely to him when she saw him, and paused for a moment to watch, but tried to avoid interrupting his work.

After time, he notices her and decides to take a breather. "Mechwarrior, is there anything I can help you with?"

In another bay Theo was working away soldering armour onto the Locust.

"Oh--!" she said, then looked apologetic. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. I was just remembering someone I knew who used to drive a Hornet like that. What got this one all dinged up, anyway?"

"I'm Sergeant Chow," the mechwarrior added. "Gillian Chow."

"I don't know. I only started working with the company recently. But most of the damage came from the left side. Though what truly did it in was a lucky shot took out the life support system. Though Technician Theodore Beker fixed that. I should have the rest done by the end of the night, if you're interested in it."

"Huh, I wouldn't have liked to be in it when that hit landed," the diminutive mechwarrior commented. Gillian imagined what it must've been like in the cramped cockpit as the life support systems gave out and gradually cooked the pilot alive. She shuddered.

"I shouldn't need to check it out," she said finally. "The Major assigned me that nice Cicada over there, and I'm quite attached to it now." Gillian tilted her head in the direction of an adjacent mech bay. "But I'm sure this'll be a fine ride for one of our other mech warriors soon. Thanks for fixing this one up, now I'll know who to go to if my own mech gets dented up!"

"The Cicada is a good light mech." Well, consider their current location, at least.

Then, he realized what he said. The look on his face was like she gave him a million C-Bills until he got it under control. "Thank you, Sergeant Gillian Chow. Your words honor me. I won't let you down."
