Human Edge

Any attempt to enter the continent of Tartarus by land will have to pass through the narrow mountain pass known as the Gate. This massive chasm runs the length of the mountain range connecting the two continents of Tartarus and Asphodel - it winds and turns, but it remains large enough to drive a massive convoy down - and some theorize it was a manmade cleft, cleared by massive mining equipment in the days of Star League.

Situation: There is no positive intel on the Gate, any exploration of what lies within will have to be done step by step, and intense distortions and high concentrations of metals and radioactive isotopes in the ashy ground make sensor readings extremely suspect. Further exploration will have to be done in person, unless the Calico can be made mobile again.
