Colette had come up with a recipe for the brew. She went into the bar to find Miss Lilly. Hopefully, miss Lilly may have not so busy night.

Bruun had not been shy about reminding Colette that she needed a Fortunate Ones escort for going back into town. Especially with danger approaching. And he'd glared hard enough at the Yokai Matsuri soldier who tried to volunteer to scare the crap out of the poor young guy. In a totally innocent misunderstanding, of course.

So the veteran ended up with his first visit to Human Edge's bar, feeling pretty proud of himself and ready to have his one night-before-the-battle drink as he kept an eye on Colette.

Instead she found Lily Fielding carrying her stock into the basement.

The bar was empty, and like much of the town, had a certain 'ghost town' feel.

There was a sense of doom in the air.

Seeing Colette, she laughed. "Of all the visitors, I least expected you, Missy. I thought maybe that lech was back for a second pass... but you really are a woman on a mission. Whoever you're making that drink for, honey, I hope he's a hell of a catch."

Bruun's keen ears catch the comments and he cocks an eyebrow, but he's behind Colette as it happens.

"That's an understatement."

She scowled, but not in a mean way. "This trouble that followed you lot is forcing me to hide my stock and be ready to run away. From my own bar. It's a travesty."

Bruun can't help butting in as the topic of the likely fighting comes up.

"Ma'am, First Sergeant Bruun, Fortunate Ones Company. I'm glad you're being smart, trying to protect yourself and your stock. The Fortunate Ones want to keep the fighting away from your town, I assure you, but the rogue elements we expect to land tomorrow are dangerous and unpredictable. So, best to play it safe." He offers a solemn but confident half-smile.

"Oh, I know."

She shrugged. "It isn't like you can just tell them to go away."

Picking up another crate of drinks, she began hauling it away toward the cellar, calling as she did, "If you still want to start that drink of yours, missy, you'll have to wait till I'm done moving all this."

"Mind if I lend a hand, ma'am? You and Colette can have a chat if you just tell me where you want this." The scruffy mechwarrior seems genuinely eager to help.
