The investigative trip had been very linear. Felicity had spent it replying to the odd bit of communication chatter and listening to the repetitive sound of her mech's long strides. She'd wanted to jump about and explore, but they were playing bodyguard to some bigger-brained folks today.
"We first noticed the signal a little further ahead. The cove and the strange signal station will be visible shortly."
She sounded bored as she sent this message across the comms. She was.

Along the Stinger came, step by step, silent on the comms until called for; why struggle to produce words when one had nothing to say? This might be a blessing for the rest of the team; nobody wanted to hear Freja continue her pontifications on gimmicks and callsigns.

In the Hovercraft the tech was in his underused padded armour as he did some checks on his field relay. "This ought to help with this whole process."

In the hovercraft, there was also a field medic. Granted, she did put her equipment on a case so the water wouldn't damage it.

Once the shoreline came into view the signal could be detected. The signal emitter could be seen too, albeit it was out in the water.
"Here we are."

The station was where it had been for hundreds of years.
Sitting in the water, a small metal tower with a rounded top.

She stepped on the sand with only her pistol, communication kit and holomap, should they begin to travel.
She took a plastiflesh and put it on her pocket. Just to be extra sure.

With the flick of a switch, Felicity turned on her outside microphone. "Careful out there. Maybe worth waiting while the signal is looked into and then using the hover APC to get over to the thing if you want to look around inside." She was quite wary of infantry just wandering the open shore. If they were attacked then there would be few places to hide.

"Okay... systems nominal..." he tapped away at buttons and adjusted some knobs on the field relay, "Scanning for local signals... add in some more bandwidths...." He placed headphones over one ear. "Cycling..."
