Nora the explorer? (Day 2 EA)

[Felicity]

"Now this is military theory. I like this, but I'm not one for big battle strategy. I prefer small units tactics. If you're all too busy covering each others' weaknesses then nobody is playing up their strengths. That's what I'm used to. The Battlemech itself is already a solid generalist. It handles terrain better than other ground units, and it is sturdier than air units." She Smiled gently. "For me, it's a shame nobody with us is piloting a Griffin or a Panther."

[Nora Crossette]

"Well... we have to work with what we have."

She smiled faintly. "Yuri has a different approach, but if you told him your ideas, he might be able to use them. I don't know."

Finishing her mug of coffee, she poured another, and added, "Right now he's pretty busy - all of this has gone off schedule and our planning is all out the window, so he's trying to get a base camp established and fix the security issues before we lose anyone else. Once things calm down, however, I'm sure he'd hear you out. He's not an unreasonable man."

[Felicity]

"That's good. Yea, it can wait... eehm, what happened last night exactly? I've only heard people gossip and speculate about it." She glanced to Nora's huge work pile. "If you, este, have time to explain and it's not secret or anything."

[Nora Crossette]

"No, no secret."

Nora sighed.

"Someone broke in the fence, our sentry shot at them, they shot our sentry. Man died. Intruder is in custody until we figure out what it's all about."

Rubbing her temples, she added, "A bit more hostile a welcome than we planned for."

[Felicity]

"W-well, at least it was only one and they're in custody. I heard there was a group." Felicity tried to sound positive for Nora after having that misunderstanding cleared. "Will there be a funeral for him or her?"

[Nora Crossette]

"Oh, there were more. The rest got away."

She sighed.

"We haven't worked out the details, but we've at least gotten them to the local morgue, so there is time to check the file."

Nora tapped the stack of paperwork. "Got to take care of the living first."

[Felicity]

"I see..." That rid her of her momentary positivity.

"Thank you for making time for me Miss Crossette. Is there anything I can do to help out right now?"

[Nora Crossette]

"Unless you are very confident in your administrative talents... no. Just be careful and remember we're all on the same team here - and we may have some people out there who aren't so friendly."

Nora adjusted her glasses. "I'll be working on a new perimeter schedule to make sure we keep enough eyes out at all times - I'll have Yuri draw up a wider perimeter fence so we can clear a kill zone. Didn't want to need it but... here we are."

[Felicity]

Nodding and giving a thumbs up, Felicity tries not to think too hard about that. "Better we're all safe."

She scoots a little to the side, edging out of the booth. "I'll let you get on. Thanks for the update Miss Crossette. We're finding lots of good leads, so there ought to be some good profits ahead."

[Nora Crossette]

"That's the hope - we may have been undersold on the risks... but it seems we were also undersold on the rewards."

A faint chuckle, hidden behind the stacks of paperwork. "If there was one thing you'd want to find, what would it be?"
