Welcome to Illium (Day T-2, Morning, Briefing Room)

Since the meeting was done and everyone had a chance for coffee, James gets a cup for Mata and him.

She certainly doesn’t seem at risk of becoming too attached to anyone. And she shoots Bruun a very suspicious look at his offer of a second breakfast.

Then again...

“They allow second helpings? Is it only for the warriors in mechs?”
Her last company had barely provided first breakfasts.

Bruun isn't oblivious to the look, but he's somewhat impervious to other people's concerns. And he's really the type to figure his assessment of something is more important than the actual rules.

"Hum. You know, I don't suppose I bothered to ask. But they had pancakes in there earlier. Pancakes," he says, as though the food was played with gold. "So I reckon this company is serious about keeping us ready to fight. Mind ain't on your mech if it's on your belly, right?" The smirk on Bruun's face suggested he already knew he was right.

[Felicity]

Felicity had been present and listening quietly. Every now and then she'd adjusted her hat or skirt. She'd been on the other side of the briefing room to where Dorgan had been, where much like him she'd claimed a wall to lean against. She remained there, sometimes glancing up and down, remembering the particulars.

...And shoot if fired upon. Simple. Terrain was. Hmm. Cold, icy southern continent. It's the largest landmass. Might have valuable stuff to mine. Dangerous irradiated northern continent. Maybe something old and valuable there too. Ruined city? Si. Uneven temperate continent with settlements. Local populace there, but unknown. Si. What else? Some old HPG message to investigate. Bueno. I've got to note this down later.

She had a longer look around the room to help her remember everyone who had been there. They'd be having simulations together the next day. Well, some of them. Wasn't the cheerful Frenchie one of the cooking staff? On your side Frenchie! Felicity cracked a wide smile for some reason as she pushed off the wall. Giving Yuri a nod she then moved to quietly leave. However, there was a little congestion at the entrance. Felicity adjusted her hat with both hands, tugging it down, as she slid up to the wall to wait a moment.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

With the briefing come to an end, Andrea finished her coffee and stood up. She took a moment to stretch, giving a nod to the pink haired young woman. « C’est un plaisir de faire votre connaissance. »

Moving over to the coffee maker, Andrea refilled her cup and turned back to observe the room.

[Yuri Creed]

Yuri simply rubbed the bridge of his nose, giving a weary sigh.

Mechwarriors were more difficult to organize than cats, sometimes.

Still, he'd given them the basics of the situation, and tomorrow he'd see what they were made of.

Lucretzia had dismissed everyone, but he hadn't... they'd have to work on that chain of command thing...

"Dismissed. I'll see you all tomorrow."

There, that at least put an official bow on it.

Walking from the room and away down the hall, he took a mental note of who saluted, or even attempted to stand at attention.

James bows to Creed as he leaves while Mata copies any Mechwarrior she sees saluting him.

[Felicity]

Felicity's right hand half rose in front of her towards her head as she stood up and straight. However, noting the self-styled Major not giving a salute and beginning to leave, she thought better of it. They'd been so rushed to gather and leave that expectations were minimally set. Felicity gradually lowered her arm and shook it. Still got that habit.

[Comstar]

On the way out, Yuri returned any salutes offered, but otherwise didn't comment.

Bruun, trying to be on his best behavior at least for now, did stand to attention as Creed approached and then passed him. Too late, he noticed that some of the pilots had at least tried to salute. Salutes? Damnation. I'm gonna have to remember how to do some of this crap.

Mostly though, he was unphased, and his attention was back to Maja in very short order.

Maja had just quietly stepped behind Drogan as Creed passed. Maybe she was just being polite?

Still, he had discussed pancakes....

"Pancakes? And I can take as many as I want? Then I will join you in this secondary breakfast Herr Bruun, but I warn you, no humorous business."
She taps her own pistol meaningfully, as if worried he might try to murder her over the syrup.
