Know your enemy (D6 LA Briefing)

[Felicity]

With a battle on the horizon, possibly moments away, Felicity was spending a bit of time reviewing the enemy specifications. She had loaded details on the mechs they had encountered. The Panther she knew a bit about, so reviewing that had been fairly quick, but the Battlemaster was an unknown beast. She studied the weapons and armour information, as well as other details of it's design, strength and weaknesses.

She was starting to really like the holotank. It was a welcome distraction from her negative feelings too.

[Theodore Beker]

One of the techs arrived from far below with an empty carafe. He set it by the coffee machine before noticing the brooding pilot. He refilled his mug and went over. "So, I heard you are in Blondie now. The commander offer you any compensation for Kiara since he sort of shot a fighter into her?"

[Felicity]

"He hasn't mentioned anything, and yea, I am." Felicity replied in few words, watching Theodore with a wariness that hadn't been there prior. She had her noteputer beside her and it was displaying some details on Blondie's model.

Her tail flicked left and right with agitation. "..." The usually talkative woman remained quiet.

[Theodore Beker]

"You *should* bother him about it. That said given the state of his Dragon I am going to guess any Dragons or bigger mechs they have are on his ask list," he paused going over the mechs he had heard of on the briefing in his head, "Panthers will probably be closest to Kiara but that'll probably just make you try and use it the same way and it is not solid. Vindicator might be a good fit, if slower. I know it isn't the same but I'll try and fix it up with some of our new parts. Unless you are taken with Blondie, I think we have an ER medium laser we could outfit her with."

[Felicity]

Theodore was suddenly being nice, in his own way. While she noticed this she was still a little guarded. She didn't know what had brought about his change of heart.

"Assuming we win and there is any salvage left. Eehm, what's the ER medium like? Is it just extended range?" She asks cautiously, her tail calming down.

[Theodore Beker]

"From what I can tell they run hotter and have superior range. I have heard the PPC and Large laser models are kind of crazy. Still, if you are in a light rear support mech like the Valkyrie more range of the laser is what you want, right?"

[Felicity]

She made a positive noise and nodded. Getting the medium laser and LRMs to both hit the same target was nearly impossible.

"No time for any changes today sadly. Sorry you've been busy non-stop with repair work."

[Theodore Beker]

"Heh, I'd rather be trying out installing some of this stuff than just taping together brawled to bits light mechs. Or brawled to bits heavies for that matter," he sighed, "Boss is taking it out without the arms, you know. Crazy. I had planned to backburner it until after we got to salvage the fields."

[Felicity]

Felicity nods, but crosses her arms and waits. She had expressed her apologies for him being busy. However, she was still expecting him to say something more.

[Theodore Beker]

He looked at her. "I'm sorry your ancestral mech was destroyed. I know Kiara meant a lot to you," he paused for a moment and opened his arms, "Do you want a hug? No one else seems to be here if you are worried about your gruff tough mechwarrior street cred."
