[Felicity]

"The, eehm, Federated Commonwealth, yea...?" Felicity asked with some sympathy. She gently gestured to Gillian. "Do you want to talk about what happened?"

[Gillian Chow]

"No, no," Gillian said tightly. "It was... a long time ago. It's better to let it go, really." But her clenched fists seemed to tell a different story.

[Felicity]

"Yea...? Looks like it still might be on your mind, maybe." She didn't want to upset Gillian so she did her best to tread carefully. Felicity offered the Capellan some water.

[Gillian Chow]

"It's...hard to forget," Gillian said with a wan smile as she accepted a water bottle. "But we gotta keep on living our lives, eh?"

"What's New Olympia like?" she asked, changing the subject. "I haven't seen much of the Free Worlds League before."

[Felicity]

Felicity murmured in agreement. She couldn't really imagine what that must have been like, but there was no way it could be easy. "You can only make the best of the here and now. Only thing any of us can do."

Moving to lean against one of the machines, Felicity stretched her arms out above her head. "New Olympia is pretty similar to Terra, not that I've been there. Temperate, fairly warm, one moon. Eehm, I only visited the cities a few times. I was mostly just at the Academy. Didn't grow up on world. I'm from a minor planet called Restitution, near the border with the Magistracy. Anyway, there are two main continents, which are really more groupings of large islands. Darienbad, the capital, is on the biggest. Pues, the Allison Mechwarrior Institute is there. It's an old school with a bunch of traditions, si? Kind of stuffy. Anyhow, it's mostly fishing and a little farming. The water sport scene is pretty big. Actually, winter sports too. There are these famous mountains, the Garden of the Gods, that attract a lot of tourists along with all the fishing and beaches. Este... the political situation is a bit complicated, but that's pretty normal in the League." It was a bunch of officially independent nations all choosing to work together after all. Felicity chuckled softly.

"I'm glad to be away from it really. My own homeworld was far quieter, while the planets I ended up garrisoning or passing through with the Marik Militia were generally more welcoming. Maybe visit New Olympia one day as a tourist, but be careful about the prices. Oh, and it's not a great place to settle unless you really like fish." She paused for a second. "Actually, do you like fish?"

[Gillian Chow]

"I do like fish," Gillian said, cracking a small smile. "They have some good seafood dishes on Sarna, my mom used to make a really good steamed fish with soy sauce. I might try visiting New Olympia someday, though I guess the mercenary mechwarrior life doesn't really lend itself to settling down."

"Someday, though, maybe we'll make a big score and things will be different," she said, trying to sound optimistic about the possibility.

[Felicity]

"Fish is great!" Felicity concurs cheerfully. Perhaps they could make friends over a shared love of fish?

"Yea, it doesn't."

She nods in agreement about that possible future. "If we're lucky. Until then, there's fish. Miss Rupelle is an amazing chef. I don't know if we have any frozen fish that she could cook. Doubt we could get fresh here so easily, but maybe the Major would let us go fishing when we're feeling more secure. Eehm..." She crossed her arms and thought about it very deeply. "I wonder if this planet has any tasty big fish."

[Gillian Chow]

"Hopefully we'll have a chance to find out!" Gillian said brightly. "Though all this talk is making me hungry. Wanna wrap up here and head to lunch?"

[Felicity]

"Okay!" Felicity agrees readily. "Eehm, but I wanted to ask: what is it like piloting a Cicada?"

[Gillian Chow]

"I'm liking it so far," Gillian said, smiling. "I've seen a few Cicadas before in the CCAF, but this is my first time piloting one myself. The movement and maneuverability is great, even without jump jets, and I haven't had heating problems whatsoever. I am finding that having just one big gun is kind of limiting... but that one gun hits hard, at least."
