[D5, EE, mech bays, open] Fix the mechs, fix the pilots

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea shakes her head, "Fine for you I suppose." She looks back to Olivier's bay, "Personally I hope to feel pride for more then surviving."

"Do you have any plans past the next meal ticket?"

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun bristles, but he swallows the retort.

"I reckon my long-term plan right now is to stick with Creed. This is a pretty damn comfortable situation as mercenary living goes." He hesitates to ask, but forges ahead: "And your long-term plan? Or maybe medium-term if things go well?" He smiles, hoping it comes across encouraging.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"To make a name for myself and return to the AFFS." Andrea shrugged, "Hopefully to join the ranks of the Davion Guards, Crucis Lancers, or the FedSuns Armoured Cavalry."

"I don't intend to stay a mercenary forever."

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun nods, having heard the list before.

"Is that common?" he asks, curious. "The sort of warrior... Well a bit like a knight errant, you might say."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"...I mean Archon Steiner kind of did that before she took the throne. Or so the rumors go." Andrea shrugs, "And...well the truth is it is for some and not for others. My name gives me leeway in that regard." She rubs her head and frowns.

[Dorgan Bruun]

"Ok." Bruun nods. "Well, I'm glad you have that leeway. I, uh, haven't really seen folks go from, ah, this side," he gestures toward their company mates, "to the house armies. But, I'm sure you have it figured out," he says, sounding encouraging -- confident even. I'm not sure this girl knows what she's gotten into.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"Perhaps, though on the other side...sometimes whole companies have folded into the House armies." Andrea smirked, "Besides sometimes you have to play things by ear. Watch for opportunity and snatch it."

"Have you ever even considered joining a house army? Trading profits for a bit more stability?"

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun smiles to see the smirk. She is cute. Sometimes.

"I don't reckon I have. But I imagine stability would beat the hell out of not knowing what the next job is going to be until you're in it," he admits. "And if I could take my favorite parts of this outfit and lock in long term... Reckon that sounds hard to say no to."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"I do not think the AFFS would be a good fit for you," Andrea answers honestly, then rubs her head and sighs, "But you could stay here and help build something yeah? Its happened before, merc company starts from nothing and rises to the highest reputation."

"...granted the most famous either inherited a SLDF lineage or...well just appeared out of nowhere."

Bruun laughs, sure her honest answer is correct.

"Yeah, I reckon AFFS might be a bit, uh, lofty to aim," he jokes.

"I reckon Creed is building a good thing here, so we'll just see how it all goes. But talk about 'appeared out of nowhere,' were we even a twinkle in Creed's eye a year ago? And we're finding SLDF mechs in some random crashed drop ship?" Bruun shakes his head in disbelief, but keeps on smiling. "It's a hell of a thing."
