[D5, EE, mech bays, open] Fix the mechs, fix the pilots

As the day wore on and it was clear that combat wouldn't come again until the morrow, Bruun carried some of his treasure to the mech bay and set up an impromptu bar from empty ammo crates. The veteran seemed to be in pretty high spirits -- haha -- and was both observing the frantic mech repairs and checking up on the mech pilots as they checked on their machines.

Karlotta would rather have her little med stand prepared for tomorrow. It had already been dismounted to give more space for all the mech and mech parts, but it didn't impede her from separating what she thought that she would use on a cart at the corner. It was useful to have somewhere people could go for medical stuff even when she wasn't there, anyway. When she finished she turned back and saw what Brunn had done. She approached laughing.
"Aye, sergeant Brunn. You really followed your word, didn't ya?"

Bruun smiles at the medic.
"Well, it ain't a victory party yet until we get those Dragon people fully controlled, but today was a pretty good day. My lance wrecked four enemy mechs. Fire support got a couple kills too. We lost Huss -- er, Snorri's mech, and Kiara, Felicity's mech," he clarifies. He sighs. "So everybody earned their drink today, with an extra for those who need it." The veteran looks like he's taking the dunk count very seriously.
"And you? I heard things got pretty hot in town, trying to evacuate people?"

"Oh, what's left? Putting their nest on fire? You know, I'm in." She replies, smiling. "We did pretty damn well there. Sure, some civilians got shot in the chaos, but on urban warfare that's not surprising." Karlotta was now looking more at the bottles than at Brunn. "Colette, an Echo member and one of our guys got in front of a grenade today."

Bruun nods in agreement, then stops when Colette is mentioned. "Wait, what happened to Colette? Is she ok?" Bruun immediately turned worried.

Otherwise occupied, Marik turned at the mention of 'Colette' and 'grenade' in the same sentence.
With genuine concern, he slid himself into the conversation almost as if he was invited.
"Does Miss Colette need our help?"
((OOC: Invited by Bruun, apologies if transition in seems unnatural))

"I think the three of them were pursuing some ants when the guy threw a granade on them. The story was something like that. The three are fine."
She straightened her eyes.
"The two of you didn't even ask who were the others, though. Seems like Colette got some fans."

Bruun looks embarrassed for a moment, but shakes it off. "I reckon everyone should be a fan of Colette," he says, a little indignant. "She makes pancakes. And beer," he points out. "And she's nice all the time." Bruun sounds like someone who can't believe this is all true.

I edited post above to retcon for loss of Fee's mech, but I think we're fine to carry on without other changes to what people had posted.

Marik nodded at the analysis.
"Some people are nice all the time - they are rare."

She was a bad reader of people, but Brunn made things way too damn obvious. She chuckled at his reply. "Yeah... I like being around Colette. Hard to find someone who doesn't, though. Always cheering me a bit up even if she isn't aware of that, ya know?"
