He'd shatted with Andrea about practicing skills of an older kind the last time they had really had a chance to chat. Getting together for it had taken a bit longer though. Well finding something that would take the place if actual weapons was a bit of a problem too.

He'd managed though, and now he was in the hangar casually waiting for the mech warrior to arrive.

Andrea arrives, somewhere she had found a fencing sabre. She flicks it up in salute to Thomas. "My apologies for the delay. But...there was a lot more to do then I expected." Her slight smile grows more solemn. "How have you been Mr. Moreno?"

Her padded jacket was closed, providing some protection for if things got rough.

Thomas had a thin wooden baton, made of a lighter wood so not to provide any harm. His own thick jacket was zipped up. "Better then I was." He patted his shoulder. "All healed up at the very least."

She was probably referring to Karlotta, but that wasn't particularly easy to chat about. "No worries about being late though. You doing okay?"

"Made a rather poor decision in regards to the expedition." Andrea smirks, "Had a little nip of cold in the old hands, but they seem to be recovering."

She swishes the foil around, testing the weight. "I'll bring a coat next time."

"So a baton? Escrima mayhaps?"

"Nothing all that fancy." Thomas replied with a shake of his head. "Just something I picked up in the Militia." His eyes shifted to her hands for a moment.

"Gloves to go with the jacket would be wise. Might be a good idea to go to town and scout out if they have any EVO suits if we are doing much more exploring of limbo."

"Yeah..." Andrea winced, "I kind of suspect that is a dead end but worth a check regardless."

"So formal training vs street fighting then?" She teased, "That sum it up."

Andrea drops into her fighting stance, body tensing up and her 'sword' held in front of her at an angle.

"Can't hurt." He agreed as he fell into his own stance. "Even just a good pair of gloves will keep ya from losing fingers."

"And yeah, that's the gist of it." Thomas gave her a nod letting her know he was ready when she was.

« En garde ! » Andrea said after flicking her blade up to a salute suddenly then moving immediately to a lightning fast thrust. Her feet moved just as quickly, closing the distance as her blade dropped to parallel. When she entered range her arm fully extended and her body shifted forward onto the foot closest to Thomas.

That was certainly not the move he was expecting and spoke if something you saw more in school then in the battle field. Bringing up his baton he batted the strike away as he sidestepped. Following up with a swing towards her extended leg.

Andrea proved just adept at the retreat as the advance. Snapping back in a quick motion, she shifted her weight onto the back foot then lunged forward again. This time her sword didn't fly toward him point first, but instead swept in from the side to try and catch him just above the waist.
