Pregame: Day T-2 (Nov 10-13)

The jump point was empty. A gravitational balancing point, incredibly far from the system's sun, poised high over the plane of the elliptic, there was nothing there but the same debris there had been for centuries.

Then... there was everything. For the briefest moment the space churned, unseen forces creating an effect which caused humans to flinch away instinctively and which cameras couldn't capture. For a moment the jump point was everything and nothing, and then it was simply an antique Merchant jumpship, with a Union class dropship clamped to its side like a monstrous steel tick. The ships rang with the fading jump alert klaxon as the crew recovered, shaking away the disorienting effects of the jump and preparing to detach.

The sight of the debris raised alarm, and then speculation. It was clear that a massive station had once held station at this point, but in the distant past, it had been pounded into scrap. For a moment, there was argument over a trip, but it was ultimately declared too dangerous, for too little gain, and the idea was abandoned.

Within minutes, the dropship was away, and the jumpship had begun unfurling the massive solar sails which would soak up sunlight to recharge it's KF drive.

Once the dropship achieved a steady thrust, equivalent to a single standard gravity, the all clear sounded, and the crew were free to walk about. Nothing was said of the mission, and speculation ran wild - where were they, and what were they here to do?

-- 10 days later --

The dropship answered one question ten days into the journey when the secure in place alerts sounded, warning the crew that the ship was going to be changing the drive burn. Slowly, the ovoid vessel flipped, and began firing the drive to decelerate. Once it achieved one standard gravity, the all clear rang again. They knew now that they were heading to the world with that turbulent weather across the southern hemisphere. Still no answers from command, apart from a promise that they would know soon.

-- 8 days later --

As the dropship Calico approached the planet, now within range of visual scanners, the jumpship departed with another wrenching of reality and spacetime. With it gone, the call went out for a general briefing. Whatever was happening, no chance of an errant transmission was being risked. Unusual security for a simple archaeological mission, to say the least.

DAY T-2

Day T-2: Weather - There is no weather onboard the dropship Calico. The air is a little bit colder than is comfortable for most, hovering around 62 Fahrenheit on the main and upper decks, though substantially warmer near engineering. The air is generally quite dry.

Events:
Morning - Welcome to Illium
Evening - Stir Crazy

Special Rule: This is pre-game. There is only one slot each for morning/afternoon/evening, so three slots per day. When you make a thread, please note the location in the title, as there are different 'sub-locations' on board the ship.

You also should not roll dice outside of event threads or where required by the GM. Take your time and chat it up, read lore tidbits, etc, and welcome to the Inner-Sphere!
