Day 16 (Dec 11-Dec 16)

The news of more pirates coming caused a stir, but it wasn't quite as terrifying as it might have been, had they not found such a formidable position.

The main concern was that the Calico was still a bit of an exposed target. Work was nearing completion, but final safety checks had to be completed before the dropship could move - which meant the timeline would be pretty close. Work continued on the ship at a feverish pace, the crew Chief keeping his people working on rotating shifts, barely getting time to sleep. Lucretzia, perhaps realizing the narrowing window, called her own people to venture to the observatory and find what they can. The expedition setting out in the early morning is escorted by Yokai Matsuri infantry and vehicles, Yuri gathering his own forces to give additional information and updates on the unit and formation. Before the meeting, one of the crew brings each member of the Fortunate Ones a two tone gray riding uniform jacket with yellow and red trim, explaining that this will serve as the company uniform for the time being.

It seemed a day to prepare - as evening falls, Calico and Redoubt sensors detected several objects settling into approach vectors, the enemy choosing landing points.

Weather (Asphodel): The temperature warms a little as clouds roll in, rising to low 50sF (10C) as the day wears on. The air is damp, but no rain falls, leaving a somewhat comfortable and breezy day.
Weather (Limbo): The weather in Limbo is extremely stable, with highs near 31F (0C), barely below freezing, and lows dropping some near -10F (-23C) at night. Traveling outside in Limbo at night without a heated cabin (such as a mech or vehicle) will inflict 2d10 damage (not exploding) per thread, reduced by hostile environment suits as normal.

Special Rules: Threads outside the Calico or Jacob's Redoubt by members of the Echo Exploration team must include at least 1 member of the Fortunate Ones as security, or the Fortunate Ones will suffer a breach of contract. Traveling to/from Limbo is time consuming - at least two timeslots must be spent for the trip - so plan accordingly. (So a trip to Limbo would have to last, at minimum, two consecutive time slots, such as LA-EE)

Current rules of engagement: Weapons free when encountering Slate Eater vehicles or personnel - all other locals are fire only when fired upon.
