Day 15 (Dec 7-10)

There was a palpable tension, just as there had been two dozen times before, as they bomb team carefully rolled the explosive into the carrying tray cradled in the hands of the Ostsol down below. The cartridge came to a stop with a gentle thump, and the techs quickly cut a series of wires and separated two smaller primer bundles, handing them off. The now inert explosive, so much dead weight, was given the go-ahead to carry back to the crawler. As the mech stomped away, the team gave each other a high-five and a cheer.

They'd done it - the metaphorical path had just been opened at last. There was a general sense of excitement and anticipation in the air - they were about to step into a relic of a lost age, and, like a treasure hunt of eld, it did breed a certain eagerness among the company.

Lucretzia, in her reserved fashion, crushed many dreams when she informed them that the exploration would be first carried out by limited teams - not a free for all exploration.

Weather: The first day in which the outpost can be explored dawns clear, but clouds are rolling in, big and puffy. The air hovers near 32 Fahrenheit (0 C) as the day dawns bright and clear, with heavy cloud cover on the horizon, blowing in from the west in the evening hours.

Into Jacob's Redoubt (Day 15, EM+LM)
Within Ancient Holds (Day 15, EM+LM)
Relay Station (Day 15, LA)

Special Rules: Threads outside the Calico by members of the Echo Exploration team must include at least 1 member of the Fortunate Ones as security, or the Fortunate Ones will suffer a breach of contract. Traveling to Limbo is time consuming - at least two timeslots must be spent for the trip - so plan accordingly. (So a trip to Limbo would have to last, at minimum, two consecutive time slots, such as LA-EE)

Current rules of engagement: Weapons free when encountering Slate Eater vehicles or personnel - all other locals are fire only when fired upon.
