He looked around the area. "I don't figure they will have much in the way of guns here might like to see if they have any ammo though."

Re: Operation Market Garden (Day 4 LA Bizarre)

The group was seeking many things, some easier to find than others.

Ammo and gun parts, fairly quick to find on the second floor, a small shop was crammed with so many guns and boxes of ammunition that you couldn't even see the walls.

Booze also wasn't hard to find, but they seemed to primarily have on offer Gin, Vodka, and Shochu.

The search for mech parts led to a shop run by a "Discount Dillan" who had a pearly white smile and evil, vicious eyes. He had rather massive catalogues of available parts, all of them priced 'competitively', for a man with no competition.

The mechwarrior in question chuckled, thinking James was joking somehow. "Come on James, just call me Felicity. What are you looking for? I'll let you know if I see it."

Finding Discount Dillan's shop, and learning there weren't any other places that specialised in mech parts, Felicity resolved herself to checking his catalogues to see what was on offer. She started with whether there were bits that would work on her Phoenix.

"I'll try to remember that if I'm ever about to be shot in the pelvis." It would be nice if that wasn't any time soon, or ever.

For now she followed the others, trying to decide if mech parts or luxury goods were the more important purchases.

With a polite nod to Andrea he offered her a smile. "Anything in particular you're after then?" He asked the noble, he wasn't exactly sure what her tastes were.

There were some... a Large Pulse, a Snub Nosed PPC, and even Streak SRMs.

Only problem was his prices... clearly it was expected that one would haggle them down... or be very rich.

"As you wish, Felicity." James had noticed some oddities. She appeared to have only one name. An old mech not seen anymore. He wondered if she could be.... But it was hard to believe a mechwarrior from back home would choose not to have a title used when talking to one of the lower castes. Unless she was really good. Really, it didn't matter. Regardless of where she came from, they had a common purpose. Serving the Fortunate Ones. Though he did wonder how many like Mata's mother where sent here.

He then went to look at the weapons in the order of display (Large Pulse Laser, Snub Nosed PPC, and Streak SRM's) to look at their quality.

Meanwhile, Mata waited patiently to see if her dad saw somewhere where she could buy a toy.

Re: Operation Market Garden (Day 4 LA Bizarre)

The Pulse Laser lens was cracked, deep in the assembly. Easy to miss, but it would be hell to fix, and until fixed, it would always fire a jittery second pulse.

The Snub nosed PPC was in good condition, and even had old GM markings for an early testbed model.

The Streak SRM launcher was in good shape, but didn't include the software package - meaning it wouldn't provide the Streak targeting system advantage.

After a little bit of glancing around, Mata saw the man with the Myomer bundles, hidden in his corner shop, working on something.

Re: Operation Market Garden (Day 4 LA Bizarre)

James knew something of how merchants worked. "These are in questionable condition at best. The lens is cracked right here. It is not an easy fix. I hope there is a good mechtech on the ship, or it will be jittery. The PPC is an old model. I would need to look at further before I could say it is without any quirks. And the SRM system is in good shape if you didn't care about it missing the program that actually make the Streak targeting system work."

James stepped back to let the warrior and the merchant haggle. Mata used her head to motion over to the other merchant. James said, "Just stay within eyesight." Mata smiled, "Or course. She went over to the man to see if she could see what he is working on."

Colette was going to visit a friend might as well take a hike with the guys. She was quiet most of the time. She followed Mata just in case her father was too distracted by bargaining. Monsieur Gates! It was nice to see him working.
