"Huh?" She looked at Bruun. "Peu etrê... just thinking about how to pair ze flavor profile wiz some snacks. What do you zink?"

"Snacks, huh," he says, rubbing what remains of his beard. "I reckon a lot of people like salty things with their beer, and probably even more so if that beer's a little chocolatey and sweet. So you need something salty, with a tiny bit of sweet to balance that little sour in your beer..."

"Salty and a little sweet. Reckon you need the snack version of me," he says with a wink and another drink of the beer.

Lily didn't interject in conversation, but kept the drinks coming, keeping a mental tally of how much was going out.

Jan failed to respond to Bruun's cogent greeting before he'd be pressed on to the bartender. It seemed that that man had some personal interest in keeping his conversation with the Echo cook going without distractions, the nature of which could be estimated by Jan with some accuracy, and summarised with a shrug.

And there he was, before the bartender, awkwardly still before he took a seat on the bar stool and leaned his elbows on the counter, folding his hands into a trunk he pressed against his lips for a moment, before asking:

"Something strong on tab?"

Colette chuckled. "You are all ze flavors, Bruun. You are sweet, salty a bit of bitter... I can see it in your eyes, sour when zings goes down ze wrong path, and bit of umami all around." Colette smiled and nodded to her analysis of the man. She continued to chuckle. "You are not a snack, you are ze full course." the girl laughed.

Bruun, taking all that as a compliment despite the giggles, goes a step farther: "Well, anytime you're ready for the full course, then, you just let me know." And he raises his glass toward her like a toast, to see if she'll clink glasses.

She looked at Bruun's eyes and smiled. "À votre santé" She clinked his glass and took a sip. "Are you proposing a sampling of goods?" She giggled.

Bruun, conscious that they're not alone, tries to be pointed without being explicit: "Reckon you're welcome to sample anything of mine you want, Colette."

She set down a glass, raising an eyebrow. "You want Miss Sugar over there's stout, or something with more kick?"

The girl smiled. "Well, maybe you could teach me how to pilot a mech." She giggled. "I have never entered a cockpit of a mech."
