"Does the wood impact your victory?"

Lily glanced at her bar, eyebrow arched.

[Colette Rupelle]

"Very well Bruun." She knocked on the wood twice. The girl giggled as she mixed the simple syrup with the yeast. "Ze starter is ready."

[Dorgan Bruun]

"Does the wood impact your victory?"

Lily glanced at her bar, eyebrow arched.

Bruun looks at the woman questioningly. "It's for good luck. Or at least it's a ward against bad luck, knocking on wood as you do something that can bring bad luck." Bruun, who takes his superstitions fairly seriously, is too focused on the literal question to think of how else it could be interpreted.

When Colette honors his request, the veteran smiles widely. Almost preening.

With a shrug, Lily tapped the side of the wood crate and then returned to stocking it with booze.

"Every world has their religions, I suppose."

[Dorgan Bruun]

"It's not..." Bruun starts to clarify, but then shrugs it off. Religion of luck? Sure. I've been called plenty worse.

Bruun leans against the bar as he waits for another crate to haul.

"Uh, Colette and Miss..., can I buy you a drink before everything gets put away? It's a battle-eve tradition: just one drink to steady the nerves, help you sleep soundly and be fresh for the fight."

She glanced at the pair, and then pushed another crate, full of bottles, into his arms.

"Sure. I'll get something."

Glancing at Colette, she added, "Though I don't know what sort of thing the sugary Miss prefers."

[Colette Rupelle]

Colette blinked a few times. "Well, Miss Lily you may be surprised zat as a chef my palette is not one off sweet zings but a bit sour." She chuckled. "But I can manage... Wiz ze cold outside... I feel like somezing that may warm ze zroat."She smiled.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun disappears with the crate to carefully place it along with the others. I wonder if it's safe leaving those two alone together.
