Calm Before the Storm (Day 16 EE, diner, open)

[Felicity]

"Please tell me it's at least a custom mech with the LRMs exchanged for more lasers?" Felicity asks urgently as Theodore selected the lightest mech so far.

[Theodore Beker]

"I believe it has switched the missile racks into short ranged ones for better get in the back and blast that soft spot open," he said as the match started with him launching forward on the jump jets letting out a burst of missiles before doing an acrobatic flip over the Centurion he was against. "Just get in back and Alpha Strike. Yeah! Down goes the autocannon."

[Felicity]

"... I have no idea what is going on." Nonetheless, Fee looked very curious. "It's pretty at least. You seem to be pretty good too Theodore."

[Theodore Beker]

The Valkyrie jetted forward and landed a destructive kick to the back of the enemy mech causing a big explosion. "Alright, match 1 over. Next up is... oh, Terri's Atlas."

[Felicity]

"So, the real challenge begins now? Well, you did good in the first match. You've played this before, si?" She was convinced he must have.

[Theodore Beker]

He began rushing in just leaping over a big blast that had to be an AC/20. "Yeah, this one is pretty old now but the series kept going so I have played games since this one," he frowned as some missiles hit taking a chunk off his health bar, "Jump mechanics changed at some point, hmmm." A volley into the opposite side from the autocannon as he began trying to get into the back, "I think I've got this."

[Felicity]

"Take it down Theodore!" Felicity encouraged him from the side, watching the battle. Thoughts of food had temporarily been forgotten.

[Theodore Beker]

"Yeah!" he unloaded a salvo into the Atlas's back, "I've got this!" With a jump a medium laser raked the side of the giant. It seemed to be going well and then...

An Autocannon blast flew out just as the Valkyrie landed blowing a leg out. The Atlas stomped its leg back into a broad stance as it unleashed an Alpha strike into the light mech. Swarms of missiles and lasers streak out.

Blasting it to pieces.

[Felicity]

"Ah... That was realistic." Felicity is half surprised and half amused. She stares at the screen and then at Theodore. Finally she pats his side. "Maybe play the Atlas next time. They're a nightmare to take down if they back up against something."

[Theodore Beker]

"Sure why not," he selected the Atlas from the continue screen. His opponent an Urbanmech. "Okay, this should be good," he said confidently as his opening salvo breezed over the little mech's head, "Need to correct for height difference..."
