[D2 EN] Advance Scouting Party (Sidewalk)

[Snorri Tycho]

Snorri strolls into town, doing his best to not freak people out. He wasn't in uniform, which would hopefully help make people more at ease, but he still had the Fortunate One's insignia on his lapels, and looked clearly to be an outsider. With luck, money would be the universal language.

Snorri, among his many vices, liked a good drink. And shit drinks. Any drink in a storm, really. However, some pretty specific guidelines had been established for his employers consumption. The fact that she had offered to share one...well, that certainly offered some incentive to inspect the place.

[Comstar]

The locals seemed surprised to see him by himself, but they gave him a respectful distance.

Until he entered the local bar.

There he found a quaint place, oozing rustic charm. A pretty bar-lady waved in welcome, and some locals glanced up from their drinks.

"Our first customer from the ship. I was wondering how long it would take. Welcome in, take a seat."

She gestured to the bar, which remained mostly empty, save the Sheriff sitting at the end and giving Snorri a suspicious stare... though the man seemed stuck in that expression, so it probably wasn't personal.

Leaning against the bar, she offered, "First one's on the house."

Honestly, I've been treated worse.

Surprised looks and a respectful distance kept was almost quaint compared to some welcomes, so Snorri does his best to politely nod as he heads into the bar.

The sight of a pretty lady behind the bar makes him break out into a grin. He sidles up to the bar and plops himself down on a stool.

"I make a point of accepting drinks from pretty ladies, even if they are of the "the first taste is free" variety." He leans in to whisper. "You guys do take CBills, right? I would hate to run up a tab that I would have to pay off by, I don't know, cow milking or woodchuck chucking"

[Comstar]

"Well, I'm not sure what a CBill is, but if I can use it to buy things off you space folk... I'll make that trade."

She smiled warmly.

"Now, what can I interest you in?"

[Snorri Tycho]

"Oh, they'll gladly take it. Whiskey for me. I would enjoy trying whatever the local favorite is." Snorri offers a grin. "Everywhere seems to have their favorite. I've also been asked to inquire about your wine"

[Comstar]

"Well, the local favorite..."

She went to the tap, filling a small glass half full of a beer so dark it was almost black. She set that down, followed by a highball glass, though she didn't fill that yet - "On the rocks, or straight?"

The beer smelled of bourbon, dark oak, and coffee. It was a rich, heavy smell, that foretold strong flavor and strong kick.

"As for wine... we don't have much - it isn't the local preference, so what we have is pretty old."

[Snorri Tycho]

"Give it to me straight" Snorri leans over the beer and takes a long whiff, his eyes rolling back for a moment. "That smellls amazing"

[Comstar]

"I'm glad you like the smell. We brew it in house."

She winked, and then poured a shot of straight corn whiskey. It was a strong one, exactly what it said on the tin.

"Family recipe - over three centuries in the making."

[Snorri Tycho]

Snorri downs the corn whiskey, sputtering at the burn. "Oh damn, haven't gotten a burn like that in a while." He looks over to the bartender. "If this is a family secret, what does it take to get into the family?" He smiles at the pretty girl

[Comstar]

"Oh the whiskey's just any ol thing - the imperial stout is the family secret."

She smiled disarmingly and turned back to the bar, filling a drink for another patron who was giving Snorri a bit of side-eye as he flirted.

"And being part of the family - well, you're not the first to ask - and I can't say just what would put that particular item on the menu."

Cleaning a glass idly, she added, "It usually helps to introduce yourself first, I find."
