Maja can't see Bruun's face scrunch up a few moment's after she spoke, as he processes what she said.

"I'm the cool pilot now!" he barks at the comm line, although his voice crackles with a hint of laughter.

"All this fancy comms junk and it still can't take a simple zoomed photo. Oh well. Stitches, cover Blondie and me while I go stupidly close to that wreck..." Bruun engages at least two superstitions before clambering awkwardly out of the giant robot, vid phone in hand.

With a clearer view, he recalls the symbol they were seeing...

It was the logo of the Star League - meaning this ship likely dated back to 2800 or earlier.

Perhaps not surprising, but it also implied anything it held inside would be of greater value than any typical salvage.

The interior was dark, and the mech deployment doors were only partially ripped from their frames, meaning looking inside would be difficult unless actually standing almost against the hull and peering inside.

"God damn... Star League, sure enough," he mutters as he recalls the symbol. Bruun takes several photos of the symbol, the general exterior of the big wreck -- he talks like Maja can hear him for a while, before cursing as he remembers he's not in a mech and doesn't have comms just laid out for him. Fortunately, Blondie's far enough away to not hear the unfortunate thing he says in frustration.

Having documented things fairly well for not getting too close to the dropship carcass. Bruun looks around one more time. Assuming all is quiet still, he'll prowl over to the mech bay doors to see if, while staying in no danger of falling debris, he can see anything interesting.

Is the coast clear before getting any farther from Maja and the mechs? 21 feels pretty good.

Assuming success above, look closer at mech bay door area, taking no physical risk though. Roll for that peering around: 35 seems promising.

Inside the mech bay, he can see the shadowy forms of mechs.

It's hard to make out what kind, or what shape they're in, but there are definitely still four humanoid shapes in there, among the rubble.

When the ship went down, it went down with the lance inside.

Seeing mechs still in the bays -- potential parts at least if not something better -- Bruun starts running for Blondie, pumping his fist in the air and whooping although no one is hearing it. Maja probably thinks he's seen a ghost.

Fortunately Bruun is athletic enough that he can pocket his vid phone while moving, and quickly return to Blondie. Once reconnected, he's immediately on comms.

"Haha, Stitches, you... You won't believe..." He huffs and puffs through a recap of the mini-scouting mission.

"I think we need to let the major know right away," he adds.

Clearly confused, Maja makes the logical deduction
"Ah, so it was being buried treasure! We are the luckiest pilots alive right now. Yes, Herr Yuri needs to know!"

Even in his excitement, Bruun double checks that this spot is marked on a map and that he still has his vidphone and the pictures on it before he turns Blondie towards home.

As the mechs stomp along, Bruun asks, "Stitches, do you reckon you're good luck? Because that find that we just found seems pretty damned lucky," Bruun chuckled happily.

"Mmmmmmh, I am thinking probably not. But maybe luck can change?"
Maja is silent for a few moments before

"Um, Bruun....what is the 'Star League' you mentioned? Is it the owner of the planet we are on?"

Maja can't see the thoughtful look on Bruun's face. "Yeah, I reckon luck can change."

"Star League was... like a big government, for all the planets. A long time ago. I read about it when I was a kid. Some people thought it was good, some thought it was terrible. Like a lot of things, it's probably best left in the past." He sighs, then switches to the optimistic side: "But they had good tech, so maybe there's really good stuff in that wreck."
