Dr. Reinhardt is in relatively good mood, in the company hover APC with the Crawler following behind. He seems to be almost whistling after hearing of the patrols finding.

Theo grinned, "So they found a SLDF Leopard? This ought to be a fun afternoon."

After a late morning pit stop back at base Felicity was once more out in the field in her beloved Kiara. The mech was doing well for itself, but some maintenance would be due in the near future.

The old mech was going at a comfortable pace thanks to the Crawler. For once, Felicity was finding the ride quite peaceful. She glanced at the sensors occasionally nonetheless. If what she'd heard was true then their target was going to be a huge find. Maybe the techs could even get the Leopard itself working?

James road with. "It is an amazing find. I wonder what sort of condition it is still in." And more importantly, what's in it?

As they came up closer, the question of 'could the Leopard fly again' was answered in short order.

No.

There was only about 60% of the ship left intact, and only for a given value of intact.

That particular bird would never fly again.

James took a drink of his coffee from his thermos. "Well, hopefully, it protected what's inside."

"Mechs are First priority, then seeing what might be in the ship's computer and what might be salvageable from the ship itself as spare parts for the Calico."

Being outside the APC, Felicity isn't privy to the chatter. She just stares at the fallen bird after bringing her mech to a stop close by.

"Oh, man... SLDF mechs. I mean they are probably mostly trashed but... there might be some really high end parts," the tech seemed genuinely excited.

The wreck was still, t the crashing of the waves on the shore, punctuated by the steady rainfall.

It was wet. It was sandy.

It was a big metal box, exactly where it had been for generations.
