Game Premise and Unique Systems

The game premise is a common enough one, in the Inner Sphere. A new mercenary corp, desperate for work, has taken on a somewhat vague contract from a research agency which hasn't been entirely forthcoming about the job.
Players will belong to one of the two organizations, and will be free to co-operate as much as they wish, but will ultimately succeed and fail on their tasks as distinct organizations. Each corporation has it's own goal:
The Fortunate Ones Mercenary Company
This green mercenary company was caught off guard by the offer they received for a relatively brief security detail - but one which required a full company of mechs, extensive nondisclosure agreements, and paid like a year long trip. Despite misgivings, the commander of the group, Major Yuri Creed, saw it as the best chance they had to get off the ground, and so he put out a call to mechwarriors looking for a spot and willing to sign on to a mission without asking too many questions up front.
The goal of the Fortunate Ones company is to succeed on their assignment - and their progress will be marked with completing contract goals. At the end of the contract, they will gain positive points for each successful contract requirement met, and lose them for failing to meet contract requirements. The final score will lead to one of the following outcomes:
5+ points: This first mission was a fantastic success, and word quickly spreads that the Fortunate Ones live up to their name, and have the ability to take care of their clients. The MRB sees fit to increase their rating, opening new doors and gaining respect from established mercenary units. This leads [Redacted] to reach out with [Redacted].
3-4 points: A very good outcome, the company gains a positive mark on their record, gaining the attention of important people, who intend to keep their eyes on the unit going forward.
1-2 points: The contract was a success, and for a new company, that's a serious victory. Though they don't make waves, they do pay the bills, and that's enough to set the stage for future efforts.
0 points: The company is found to have failed, but not so greatly that it is held liable for failure. Though they don't get paid more than overhead, they are not removed from the MRB rolls, and may yet find another long shot to try and save the company.
-1-2 points: The Company is found to have failed, and is held liable for gross incompetence. The MRB strips them of their license, and [Redacted].
-3+ points: [Redacted]
Echo Excavation and Research Group
This company has appeared from obscurity, not with a new product or breakthrough, but with a decent amount of money, and that is enough to draw in talent. Though they aren't entirely clear what the upcoming expedition is doing, outside of 'geological surveys', and they aren't exactly open about what planet they'll be doing them on, the pay is good and the opportunity is too. They are bringing on scientists from many fields... not just those having to do with rocks and soil. All you need is credentials, and the willingness to take a leap of faith.
Through the course of the game, there will be a series of projects which need to finished - each will have a certain number of stages to finish, each with it's own requirements. There are three main projects for the group to complete, along with side projects that may be uncovered by events. For each project completed, unique rewards will be unlocked, and for each one failed, those benefits will be lost forever. In order to consider the trip a marginal success, at least one of the three main projects must be completed, otherwise all staff will be fired with scathing references - a death mark for any future careers in the corporate research community.
If two projects are completed, the expedition is viewed as a great achievement, and the unlocked benefits will be increased by an end of game bonus, and the group will begin planning their next expedition.
If all three projects are completed, [Redacted] will unlock, and if [Redacted] then [Redacted].
