The patrol today consisted of a APC filled with a few infantry making its way across the countryside. Ruins had been spotted several times and it was a past time to take a look at them.
Cesar relaxed in hisxseat looking between the others inside. They should be there before long.

Dr. Reinhardt had seen the ruins from the Control Tower yesterday and was interested in seeing them up close, so decided to ride shotgun on this patrol.

Karlotta looked at the window again. But this time she was not paying attention to the outside, just looking at the waterdrops.
She was leaning against the window, however, visibly more tired than yesterday.

"Didn't sleep enough?" Thomas asked Karlotta as she leaned against the window. From what he coukd tell that sort of thing was going around, which wasn't a good thing.

"I did. I just didn't stop for a second yesterday. Even when we returned to base I had to go on medical duty. And I forgot my coffee this morning. Don't worry, I'm fine."

"Night shift did good work on the tech end of things. Things are always exciting with pirates about," he chomped into a piece of jerky.

"Alright." Thomas replied with a nod. He wasn't going to pester her if she said she was fine. Instead he offered a nod to Theo.
"Thats good to hear, honestly I'm hoping to get that troop carrier we found yesterday into some sort of battle condition. It will be nice to be able to out more guns on the field."

The ruins were surprisingly hard to reach, the terrain starting to get quite rough as they attempted to approach, the ground breaking into treacherously steep valleys and sharp inclines - almost unnaturally so.
Reaching them will require a two sequential successes on a Driving(Vehicle)/Dexterity roll vs TN 15.

Taking the wheel, Thomas decided to give it a go. He was fairly decent at this sort of thing after all. He made it look easy too, guiding the APC through the terrain with ease.

As they crested the last uneven little hill, the ruins came into view.
It was heavily overgrown, an ancient palace of some sort, and now it was a garden of exotic and native plants run rampant. The soaring buttresses still held faint glimmers of tarnished brass, the sun reflecting off the lenses of long ruined laser emplacements in the battlements. Equal in size to many governor's estates on worlds in the more prosperous regions of the Inner-Sphere, before being destroyed and abandoned, this place must have been truly impressive.
Now it was only vaguely sad.
