Human Edge

After it had grown darker, the sun setting a half hour before and prompting the fire to be lit, the barbecue had been put out. There was still some meat available if anyone was pecking. However, attention had drifted to the bonfire and seating. It was too dark for anymore shooting and everyone had shown off their ability there.

The sticks were now put to good use thanks to a bag of marshmallows. The cool evening air and growing night cold were both fought back by the heat of the fire. However, anyone that needed a bit of extra warmth could grab a blanket. The atmosphere was cosy and tranquil as embers drifted high into the air and the wood crackled. Behind those who stayed loomed the Calico, a reminder of safety.

Felicity had the bag of marshmallows and she was going around offering new ones to those present.

"Another? Do you want a white or pink one?" She asks with a grin.

"I'll let the dealer choose." Snorri offers a mischeivous smile. "Be careful, you might get some all over you"

He leans back, taking a very, very long glug of something clear that smelled like acetone. "Thanks for all this Fee. I didn't think I needed it so much until we actually sat down and did it. It just feels...normal. And comraderous. Is that a word? I'm making it a word"

Picking out one of each, she flicks them both at Snorri. "You first Snorri. Hyah!"

She smiles as she stopped to sit next to him for a moment. "You're welcome." She chuckled at his made up word. "Whatever you like Snorri. I'm just glad the Major approved and that we seem to not have any immediate threats facing us for once."

Snorri runs his tongue over the pink one, and then decides that there is no way he can make this look appealing, swallowing the whole thing. The other one, he thrusts onto a stick and starts to toast.

"Ha! Knowing our luck, at the crack of dawn we are going to see a supernova collide with a black hole." Snorri looks around a bit. "You look nice today"

Bruun had stepped away from the fire to struggle out of his Fortunate Ones coat. With teeth gritted, he managed to get it off without too badly pulling at his injured shoulder. Having avoided too many hisses of pain giving him away, he returns to the fire and gently places the big coat around Colette's shoulders. She may be angry to feel his hands lightly squeeze both her shoulders, knowing it means he's out of the sling.

Miss Rupelle was getting cold and the feeling of the warm jacket around her was quite nice. She did pout knowing that Bruun was hurting himself just to get it off. "I am sorry, Oso if it hurts. Thanks it is getting really chilly." The chef looked up at the man and smiled.

Bruun very gently gets his left arm back in the sling, and hisses slightly as the sling material fails to slide as he expected. The mild pain was nothing compared to his anger with himself for letting Colette hear him and be distressed.

He leans down to hug Colette around the shoulders with his good arm. "I'm fine," he says quietly by her ear. "Nothing I wouldn't go through for you."

"Nice try, but that wasn't a good look." She points out.

At his joke her smile turns a little nervous. "We're fortunate to be alive and to have found what we did, but we've not been fortunate in terms of enemies Snorri. Maybe it's best not to joke, si?" She gets up and stands beside him so she can ruffle his dirty blonde hair. "Don't I look nice every day?" She chuckled as she gave him a wave, moving past him to offer Bruun and Colette marshmellows.

"Hey. I'm going to scold you both."

The bag is handed to Bruun. "Eat and relax you!" Then she rounds on Colette. "I prepared blankets Letty! Honestly... este, do you need someone to make you warm?" Felicity starts to grin as she crouched down beside the little chef to cuddle her. "I'm pretty cold too, but the fire's nice. Let me hand out the rest and make sure everyone has a drink and then we can get cosy. Perhaps a big cuddle pile, si?" She chuckled as she gives Colette's cheek a peck.

James and Mata had stuck around. Mata asked Felicity as she looked at the marshmallows, "What are those?" She looked to James who shrugged. "Didn't really have sweets or the like back home." At least, James guessed they were sweets.
