Yuri nodded to Karlotta, and motioned over two of the sentries, directing them to use one of the medit's stretchers and carry the teen in under the lights in the mechbay. They'd get it set up as a makeshift surgery right away.

It was going to be a long night, and Yuri also made sure someone got started on some coffee, and Nora came hurrying to the surgery to offer any help that she could.

The investigation was complicated by the chaos of sentries, now extremely on edge, sweeping the perimeter with their rifles, spotlights panning back and forth, casting a network of shifting shadows all around.

Still, it was clear that whoever it was, they'd snuck in by cutting a small hole in the fence and crawling through, though it wasn't clear what they'd been trying to do. There were other interesting signs, however.... one being the copious ammunition casings lying about in multiple calibers, indicating at least 3 different guns had been shooting, and the vehicle had been some sort of hovercraft, judging by the lack of tire marks.

It didn't resemble the sorts of wheeled trucks and tractors that they'd seen among the locals earlier that day - or even the old armored vehicles the Sheriff's posse used.

Among the grass, in Bruun's periphery vision, something glinted as the spotlight swept past.

Eyes narrowing with suspicion, and drawing his laser pistol again just on principle, Bruun grunts at Marik, then gestures with his head to follow him.

Bruun leads the way, approaching carefully, as at this point he would not be at all surprised if the intruders had left some kind of bomb behind.

It was a video imager, unfortunately it looked to have been damaged in the fall, possibly irreparably. But it seemed it had been dropped at some point during the escape.

Bruun looks at it quizzically. He holsters his pistol again and picks it up. "This something of ours or did the bad guys drop it?"

Marik keeps his gun hand steady, scanning as he listened.

"Best take it in - if it's theirs, it might tell us what they're after."
