Helping Out With The Ship (D2, Late Morning, The Ship)

James offered to help with the ship.

Mata was not with him, so as not to get in the way he sent her to the mess hall (well, that's the only reason he told her, he left out his concerns about her being outside after seeing that kid being brought in after being shot).

The engineering section was a scene of controlled chaos, with work crews still working on cutting away bent and blasted metal and testing structural joints for damage. It wasn't entirely clear what role he should take - though a swarthy, balding asian man did appear to be in charge.

Maybe he'd know.

James approached the man. "Technician James Hall of the Fortunate Ones. I'd like to help for a bit. Ships are not my specialty, but I know a little.

"Hell, son, we need an entire engine done. I'll take anyone, no matter if it's their specialty."

The swarthy, if a little short, man laughed, and then clapped James on the back. "If your employer doesn't mind lending you to us, you can tell me, what do you know about working with voidcraft? Can you handle a GM 3 plasma vent tube patch, or should I send you to shift armor plates?"

"I have completed my tasks for my company, and I am sure the major will want to be able to fly when the contract is done."

James gives an appropriate answer to the question because he, unlike his player, know if he can handle a GM 3 plasma vent tube patch job.

It isn't too complex, but it still requires perfect work.

It would be slow, and tedious, and high responsibility.

Then James would affirm it is within his ability. Work is work and worth doing no matter how tedious.

The chief gave him another clap on the back, and gestured toward the main hull where the fuel line had fed out. "If you get in there, you can start laying containment panels."

(It'll take a set of five consecutive rolls of Technician(voidcraft)/Dexterity at TN 15, if any are failed, the process must begin again from the start. You can only make a total of eight rolls in a time slot)

James may have been overconfident in his abilities, so he takes his time. Get it done right.

((I rolled them all here for the sake of quickness, the work will take three slots which I will create the other two.))
