Re: Scouting the Valley (Day 5 Late Afternoon)

Scouting can be done with an Investigation/perc roll vs a higher TN, or a survival/perc one vs a lower one - the goal is finding a stable path vehicles can take to reach the approximate area for the search.

Finding a way through the brush wasn't likely to be easy. Thomas did keep his eyes open nonetheless as he drove.

Re: Scouting the Valley (Day 5 Late Afternoon)

Nothing stood out to Aly at first. At best, he spotted a few game trails.

Then, he saw one that might be a bit too large....

Re: Scouting the Valley (Day 5 Late Afternoon)

It seemed a useless trip for a long time, but at least Aloysius noted a small crevice, which, after a second look, was actually an arch formed by two skyscrapers, one of which had toppled into the other.

Clearly, these buildings had been made of stern stuff, to survive that dislocation - perhaps this area had been geologically unstable even before the attack which destroyed much of the world.

And it also was a route past what had, up to that point, looked like impenetrable forest and stone.

A little bit of digging revealed an ancient roadway, winding east under a thin blanket of earth and leaves - a few centuries of neglect covering, but not yet destroying, what remained.

With that information, it would be possible for a proper expedition to push into the mountains and start searching the area.

"Yeah, though we might need to be a bit more properly prepared for that." Thomas replied as he looked the area over.

"Lets mark thus place on our maps though so we have an easier time making our way back."

"Good idea," Gillian said over the comm. "Let's definitely mark this for later exploration."

Inside the Cicada cockpit, Gillian licked her lips absent-mindedly as she pencilled onto her makeshift map the old mountain road they had discovered.

"Well, now that's business is out of the way. I suppose we can move on to other things." Thomas observed looking back at the others.

"Anything else anyone needs while we are out here?"
