The Fragility of Dreams (D18, LM)

[Colette Rupelle]

She shook her head still smiling. "To them is not a table flip just taking a rook." She looked to the horizon.

[Lucretzia Winters]

Lucretzia scowled, expression dark. "You have a less allegorical version of that comment, chef?"

She was working herself into a right temper, and the seemingly calm demeanor of Colette seemed to be setting her off.

[Anastasia Winters]

Anastasia rolled her eyes, but did not intercede, instead gazing at the destruction with a seemingly bland expression, as if completely unperturbed by events.

[Dr. Reinhardt]

Reinhardt also looks at the little camera operator, "To assume they are playing that kind of game, you would have to know who they are, do you?"

[Colette Rupelle]

She giggled "Oh Madame... I understand ze loss. Yet here we are wandering and wondering about why and how." She chuckled. "You are alive and you have my footage to review. Sometimes loss is gain."

Colette looked at Dr Reinhart. "Not really Dr Ren you don't need to know your opponent to know zat it is a game. It just zat... or a temper tantrum." Colette chuckled as she discreetly looked at Lucretzia.

[Lucretzia Winters]

"A hell of a tantrum."

Lucretzia prowled forward, muttering under her breath, and then glanced back at the pair. "I was hoping we'd have real breakthroughs. Things that would put us on the map - would make enough to pave an entire new way forward... and now our biggest find is rubble. It makes me wonder what to do next."

[Colette Rupelle]

"Madame... Breakthrough takes time we found what we needed to find. What some people might call fate. Be glad zat you could see it's magnificence before ze people got jealous of ze find." Colette nodded with a smile.

[Lucretzia Winters]

"That much is true."

Lucretzia turned back to the building, marveling that the structure still held together so well, despite the rather large hole blasted in the center of the structure - the people doing the destruction had been fairly precise.

"It's like they were trying to just destroy the sensors and transmitters... but why?"

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"Either to shut us up, or to keep the technology out of our hands"

[Colette Rupelle]

"Perhaps zey don't want people to know. We may have made ze mistake of activating it." She chuckled " it seemed to have attracted ze wrong crew."
