The Fury settled down on the landing skids near the observatory for a second time - now that satellite images had confirmed the strange white force had withdrawn, their ship flying away and vanishing somewhere near the polar northern storms.
Walking down the ramp, Lucretzia cast her gaze about, expression, for the first time, full of emotion.
Despair. Anger. Loss.
All of these things flitted across her features, while Anastasia sat nearby, expression blank.

"What a damn waste."
Lucretzia looked like she wanted to hit someone.
"Why in the nine hells would anyone want to destroy a place like this?"

"Somebody wanted to shut down communications for good. Do we know the identity of the Leopard yet?"

"No. They have no markings."
She scowled at the smoking remains of one transmitter tower. "Why this facility, in particular? It doesn't make any sense, Doctor, unless your knowledge is a great deal less niche than we first expected."

He shakes his head, "No idea, someone came here to target this array, in doing so they had to know it was here, that means either they found out from us somehow, or they found out from the people you originally learned about it from, or they somehow intercepted the communications directly."

"And I don't know which."
Biting at her nail, she scowled.
"This was going to be it. I was so... so close."

"We have a lot of it documented, We could see if there is still something left under the rubble, or was it the actual equipment you wanted to study closer?" He sighs, "I think it is a crime to have destroyed this technology, technology we no longer have the ability to recreate, who ever did this wanted to keep it out of our hands. Either they wanted to make sure we didn't continue to communicate with the 331st or they wanted to make sure the technology did not get out. Only reason for the later is if they already had the technology. The reasons for the 1st could be tied to Technician Halls story I guess."

Colette came out. "It is just a game for many... of chess." She giggled.
