Human Edge

The mechtechs were busy repairing mechs and replacing armour. Everyone was on stand by, but it seemed both side had pulled back to lick their wounds.

Felicity was full and restive. That meant she had ample amounts of energy, which in turn meant she needed an outlet.

Sims will have to suffice.

With that thought she'd headed to the Simulators to try a few combats versus the enemy mechs she'd encountered so far. The warmup had been her precious Kiara against a Jenner. With great satisfaction she'd blasted the thing apart from range. The second fight against a Dragon had been a harder match that was in danger of turning into a war of attrition. Thankfully, her Phoenix had won thanks to its SRMs. It had lost its right arm in the process however. That had irked her. The third simulation had been against a Panther and a Jenner working together. This one she ended up losing, but not before legging the Panther and causing horrendous damage to the Jenner. Still, the head hits to her mech from multiple SRMs had ended that combat.

Felicity emerged out of her pod nearly as sweaty as she had been after the actual fighting that morning. Not for the first time she was glad the dropship had an excellent laundry service. Her short shorts and tank top were wet and clingy. She took deep breaths as she left the simulated sauna of the pod to gulp down water and towel herself down. Her skin was glistening from sweat.

Bruun wandered in, water and towel in hand, wearing just cargo shorts and short work boots as usual. Seeing Felicity caused him to smile, and also for his breath to catch as he took in the view. He cleared his throat awkwardly, finally finding a voice to say, "Uh, hey, Fee, good to see you." He shakes his head, trying to get his focus back on mechs. "Heard you all had hot work in the canyon today."

Felicity turned to see who the newcomer was, her boots surprisingly quiet on the hard floor. She recognised Bruun as she dried her hair and cat ears. "Oh hey Bruun. Good to see you too." She nods with a half smile, half wince at his comment. "Yea, it was pretty crazy there. I think the Major's angry."

Bruun almost does a double-take as she turns toward him.

"Um." He blinks, pulls it back together. "Uh, so, angry huh? I see. How, uh... How bad was it?"

Without warning, three simulator hatches popped open, and a trio of well dressed men emerged.

Holding up a badge, the man in the center stated, boldly, "ROM! Interspace Time Trouser division! You're wanted for questioning regarding a split in spacetime! Quickly!"



Grabbing Bruun and Felicity with surprisingly strong grips, they dragged them into the nearest simulator, which flashed with a mysterious light.

Afterward, there would be no trace anyone had ever been there.
