i am more organizing leads so we have it in one place for reference, but I am very clear that D4 may leave little time for fun exploration and salvage

The Crawler is out and it sounds like mech and ground APC movement will be tough. So, hover APCs only.
Not a good day for salvage.
Perhaps more ruins, starport if not done there, the town?

You only went into the underground bit of the ruins. There was all the above ground bit to explore, which may just be interesting, and the guard towers with emplacements.
