What path will the Fortunate Ones pursue in the broad sense?

The finds on Illium are too large and too valuable to try and hold on to - especially given how difficult a small company would find utilizing them. Better to put the facility into lockdown once again, hope nobody else finds it, and leave - returning to focus fully on mercenary life, job to job, without any on-world attachments anywhere. This option will lead the company to focus on seeking more work, taking only what they can carry and avoiding getting too attached to any one area of space.

It is important to balance growth with caution, and the best option is to lease the facilities to the locals and trust them to deliver them, and the a portion of the profits, back to the company when they are ready to return and make use of them. This option will lead the company to travel with the hope of one day coming back.

There is a time for war and a time for peace. The company can use this chance to go recruit more pilots to handle their machines, using the new facilities and transports to train and prepare them, while taking smaller jobs in the nearer sections of the galactic neighborhood - good training opportunities, moderately profitable, and close enough to return home in an emergency. This approach will lead the company to put down some roots on Illium, developing relations with nearby factions, such as Human Edge, and the Slate Queen's kingdom, investing heavily with the goal of fielding sufficient forces to enable far more profitable future ventures.

The Queen of the Slate Eaters seems poised to turn her kingdom from a petty bandit haven to a somewhat reputable nation - as far as periphery holdings go. She needs an army - and the Fortunate Ones could be that army. This choice will lead the company to sign on as permanent contractors for Leonora - providing the military backing she needs to shove the other pirate bands into line.

This all should belong to Illium, best to leave it all. In this case, the company takes only what it brought and returns, feeling very charitable, and not very profitable.

POLL: Fortunate Ones Future

The contract runs for another two months, which will pass in peace and relative tranquility, the Echo Exploration group gathering as much information as they can before they are escorted back to 'civilization.'

The question then becomes... what next? There are now more paths ahead than expected, and this means that there are now macro decisions that must be made before other, smaller decisions can follow.

Result: The Fortunate Ones will claim the factories and bases in Illium that they have discovered, creating a fallback base for training and preparation between assignments, while sending out smaller deployments of a more limited scope.
