Upper Deck Locations

The upper decks include several points of interest where a Thread can be located, which are summarized below.

Bridge
The beating heart of the dropship, this small room, nestled beneath the armored nose of the dropship and behind several thick bulkheads, contains the controls and communications of the ship. The room is cramped with information displays, barely lit, and features thin mesh nets on rollers, normally stowed away, but deployed under emergency maneuvers to avoid anything (or anyone) coming unbuckled and transforming into a deadly projectile mid-flight.

Entering here without authorization will result in a polite request that you leave, followed by a much less polite one if you decline.

Aerospace Hangar
The top deck of the ship, indeed the first thing to sit beneath the armored nose-cone, the aerospace hangar is smaller than the mech hangars below - indeed the space is broken up by large reinforced bulkheads, limiting the floorspace and mechanics' gantries substantially - indeed there are no fixed gantries at all, only small rolling ones which can be stowed away when not in use. While not officially off limits, the area is not 'en-route' to anything, so it doesn't get much traffic.

Briefing Room
This space has seen a lot of use over the centuries. A squat room with wood paneling to cover the metal bulkheads, it is laid out in an oval shape with three rows of seats - each rising slightly over the last to create a tiny ampitheater. The chairs, whose faded cushions have graced the asses of mechwarriors for generations, surround an antique holotank which can be used for informative briefings or general time-wasting, and occasionally, movie night. A cofee machine is built into one of the walls, a concession to the reality of military life throughout the ages - long-winded briefings being inescapable facts of life.
