Snorri's own shot went wide, but Fee was on cleanup.

"Nice shooting Fee. We got" Snorri checks the sensors. "Three down already? Man, that was fast."

Snorri is surprised as the Quasit lumbers forward, exposing itself.

"Pincer? I'll take the back"

Snorri keeps the Hussar revving, bringing it into a hairpin turn, bounding down the hill to swing behind the Quasit, taking its back and firing again before launching himself into a kick to rack up as much damage as he could.

There wasn't much time for chatter as the Quasit began to move, but Felicity allowed herself a few words and a moment of glee. Her PPC was still charging.

"Thanks, you too. Stay sharp. The Locust is still powered and here comes the Militiamech." It was a cheap industrial mech converted for combat. She'd seen a few among the Marik Militia. It was useful for plugging gaps. It had more guns and armor than many expected however, and it was quite fast.

"Please. I'll draw fire." Overly cautious Major? Watch this.

When she aims her weapons she notes a new friendly blip on her monitor. She forces down a smirk so she can concentrate. She had to slow it down. The communication from the aerospace asset was quite a boost to her already high morale.

(Staying still. PPC and SRMs at the Quasit.)

The Shilone roared past overhead, angling one wing and then swinging wide to prepare for the attack run. The Locust managed to lift itself slighly, volleying 5 LRMs out on smoke trails, smacking three into the Phoenix, while the Quasit and Phoenix both exchanged fire. (Hit RL, 3 damage) The Phoenix missed with it's missiles, but the PPC shattered the armor plating off the arm of the militia mech (Hit RA, 10 damage). In turn, the quasi fired all it had, but the green laser slipped past along with 4 SRMs and 2 LRMs, leaving only three small detonations to the torso as damage (Hit RT, 3 damage).

The Hussar attempted to spear the mech with its laser, but couldn't get the shot, but Snorri did managed to slide in close enough to smash one foot against the shin of the running mech as it passed. (hit LL, 6 damage, piloting roll to remain standing succeeds) The militia mech didn't fall, despite the damage.

The Quasit kept running, turning its back to the hill to try and protect itself as it went, and the Locust kept turning.

"Looks like we've got something that can take a few hits." Snorri calls over the radio, wincing as the immobilized Locust manages to lay down fire.

"But he's still looking like he's offering us more chances to flank. What do you say Fee, keep the train running and go at him from both ends?"

Snorri as a clean path in now while Felicity has a very nice firing solution. He can't get up and attack the back, but he can certainly keep piling on damage.

Light damage. That's fine. Her armor was still green. The aerospace fighter shot past overhead as Felicity concentrated on the combat. Hopefully it would be back.

"Let's do it. I'm going to cut it off. Try to kick its legs out from under it DJ."

Switching her receiver off, she turned her mech and took a few steps to build momentum. Then she ignited her thrusters with a loud whoop as her adrenaline rose. She soared through the air to land ahead of the Quasit, making it harder for the mech to retreat. Her missiles would find it easier to hit from this distance.

(Jump to 0911 facing 0810. Fire SRMs at Quasit, then go for a kick)

The running Quasit juked and turned, trying slipping away from the azure beam Snorri fired at it, and even managed to avoid most of the missiles from the Phoenix, though 1 did tag the torst (LT hit, 2 damage), in return it fired everything it had at the Hussar, the SRM spitting 4 missiles, two of which detonated on the Hussar, though the medium laser did miss... machine gun fire cracked armor plating, but didn't punch through (Hit RL+RA+CT, 2 damag each) Snorri was looking at major armor loss for a mech with almost no armor to begin with - but no structural damage yet.

Then both allied mechs tried to trip and kick away the militiamech, and both hit, the Hussar smashing armor on the right leg, and the Phoenix snapping the armor off the left, mangling the ankle joint (Hit RL+LL, 6+10 damage, lower leg critical) Against all odds, the militiamech staggered but remained standing. (Piloting roll to remain standing successful)

The shoddy construction of the militia mech meant this rough handling was putting serious pressure on the frame, and the right arm join gave out under the pressure, dropping the limb uselessly to the ground. (RA knocked off) Stumbling toward cover, the mech got ready for a final sprint away from the Dropship perimeter zone.

Coming in for a lower pass, the Shilone roared in toward the target, engines and angled thrusters roaring to keep the aircraft alight at strafing speeds.

"Shimatta!" Snorri goes back to a Japanese curse from his Draconis days. The swear is mostly in surprise.

"It's ok, my armor is shot up but everything is still running in the green. Don't let up! "

It looks to be getting away. Snorri moving behind it to attack from the back, going all out in bid to end it.

With its right arm missing the left became the threat. Felicity turned her mech toward the target and lurched it into a purposeful walk. One aimed at tripping the enemy once and for all.

"Lighting it up."

She turned off the field inhibitors. Her electronics would go on the fritz for at least a few seconds after she fired.

(Move to 0810, turn to 0711 and walk. Fire PPC then SRMs at Quasit followed by a kick)

The Phoenix and Hussar both closed in, weapons smashing into the quasit. The Phoenix managed to miss all its shots, point blank range making it difficult to coalesce the PPC, and disturbing Felicity's aim, but the Hussar stabbed a laser deep into the back of the mech, carving a molten path (hit CTR, 8 damage).

Five LRMs spiraled hopelessly overhead as the Locust attempted to hit the fast moving Shilone which roared in on an attack vector. Alexei smiled faintly - it had been a lifetime since he last flew - and he felt it all coming back to him. The targeting computer marked possible approach lanes, and he deftly dove into the center, riding them in to his target. As the crescent attack fighter howled overhead, the roar of the engines intermingling with the boom of twin autocannons in the nose and the crack of ionized atmosphere from the lasers, the Quasit found itself the victim of a rather intense concentration of fire. A large laser arced from the nose of the fighter, slicing the right leg armor away, while twin autocannons barked out a volley of high explosive rounds which bit chunks of armor away across the body and jammed the hip. Finally, a wing mounted medium laser pair arced out, one going wide, and the other slicing into the left torso, leaving a glowing gash.

Seconds later, the mech blossomed in a growing fireball, which burped out waves of flame, and then erupted into a geyser of debris, dirt, and myomer fragments. (Hit RL+RT+LL+LT, 8+2+2+5 damage, critical hit on hip and SRM4 Ammo. SRM 4 Ammo explosion. Quasit Militiamech suffers 176 damage, mech destroyed)

Moments later, the Locust ejected, perhaps stupidly forgetting the mech was on its side.

The end result... was not pretty to look at.

As the Shilone howled away, banking sharply to turn a wide loop back toward the Calico, the field was still, the hostiles completely wiped out.

Result: Fortunate Ones Total Victory!

Fortunate Ones hold the field.

"Nice shooting Captain" Snorri broadens the channel. "This is DJ. We have a bunch of mechs here to scrap. I don't think anything special, but we got shot a touch and might need some more armor"
