The old man with a peg leg in the eastern route kept hobbling, groaning at the exertion, face sweating as he tried not to drop anything.

In the north, a the duo was nearing the square.

To the West, the young man caught the patch and after a moment of confusion, pressed it over the bullet wound, stopping the bleeding and injecting the local anesthetics - it wouldn't get her moving again, yet, but it would keep her out of immediate loss of life. The mother with two children is also nearing the escape zone.

Dullahan zeroed down and fired a burst at the last healthy trooper, trying to take him down. Her bullets couldn't connect, however, doing no damage.

Grendel, patient as ever, ignoring the incoming fire, again squeezed the trigger. This time the shot passed through the car window one soldier was sheltering behind, through his armor, and out the far side, without slowing down.

The two survivors fired back. The first missed wide, but the second tracked his burst onto Grendel. The bullet drew a shallow injury, causing him to scowl behind his iron mask.

Thomas shifter his aim to one of the men he had injured firing a shot at him. It likely hit, but the bullet was probably no more then a graze. "Check the others." He called to Dullahan, fairly certain he had this in hand. At least for the moment.

To the west, the trio kept firing at Kamaitachi, trying to bring the angry woman down, still darting forward from cover to cover. Most missed, but one caught her as she juked between a metal bench and a large bush, splattering blood across the ground and drawing an angry yelp.

George Bates hadn't run in years. He also used to have a leg, last time he tried. Praying to whatever deity might want to help him, staggering, he continued to make a slow and steady escape. From the North, the civilians got clear, racing to the APC, and the woman and her children escaped from the east.

That just left George and the wounded trio who were barely moving.

Kamaitachi, spitting mad, dove into cover behind a pickup truck, gasping in pain. Shoving a grenade into her shotgun's underslung launcher, she dropped to one knee, aimed, and squeezed. The small round projectile arced through the air, and then landed with a satisfying *thwump* explosion among the three Black Dragon terror troops. The car they used as cover splattered with blood as the three men were shredded by shrapnel and tossed forcefully into the nearest solid objects, the one closest to the blast dying instantly, and the other two suffering serious injuries.
