What goes up... (D5 LA Simulators)

[Felicity]

"Running." Felicity communicates back as the very damaged Jenner ran away at full speed. "Let me focus."

She tracked the target before it could get to a ridgeline in the distance. Her LRMs fired and they swooped in after the Jenner. A bunch hit along the weak back armour and there was a large explosion as the torso held ammo must have been hit. All that was left were the two legs, which promptly fell over.

"A PPC would have gone right through its back."

[Dorgan Bruun]

"Ha!" Bruun cheers as the Jenner explodes. At her wish for a PPC, the veteran sighs.

"Fee, you got this. Blondie ain't Kiara, but she can do what you need her to do." The Firefly strides over so its cockpit is facing Blondie's, though the affectation of Bruun "looking at" Felicity is maybe rather silly.

"Don't try to fix today. Let today feel like a loss and get ready to win tomorrow. Best we can do right now." The veteran's encouraging smile is wasted in this setting, but it maybe comes through in the tone.

[Felicity]

"Win and survive. Yea. I know."

Felicity flicks off the simulation and starts reflecting on the combat. The Valkyrie was quite cool, which was a bonus. Her cooling vest, which she'd put on over her tank top, hadn't struggled at all.

"So, why Blondie?" Felicity asks when she does emerge from the pod.

Bruun hops out of his pod feeling good, though pretty sweaty from so much jumping and lasering. Compared to Fee, he looks like the one who's been in the pods for several rounds. He's quick to grab up his towel.

"Well, for one, she's gold," he says in a voice that suggests that would be reason enough. "And two, she, well..." Bruun looks guilty but not embarrassed. Mischievous perhaps?

"She reminded me of a woman I knew, sometime back. Similar style: no nonsense, get the job done, don't waste time being fancy or tricky. I reckon she woulda been pretty proud of Blondie ripping that Hetzer apart," he says with a big grin.

[Felicity]

"I see." Felicity replies with a growing smile as she goes to towel off and rehydrate herself. "Didn't take you for one that likes the plain Jane librarian type. So, you prefer vanilla, si?" She teases him a little. "I hope she wasn't no nonsense, get the job done behind closed doors."

[Dorgan Bruun]

"Hey now," Bruun says with only a hint of real defensiveness. "I like a variety of women. And I can appreciate women for more than just sex," he adds hurriedly, perhaps trying to keep a veneer of professionalism in the conversation.

"Especially mechwarriors. Lots of, ah, skills that I appreciate," he says, clearly looking for something to say that doesn't make him sound like too much of a creep--and failing.

"And I was only with Blondie's namesake twice. Er... five times." To Bruun's credit, he does look somewhat embarrassed after making that correction.

[Felicity]

"And have a variety of women liked our dear Bruun?" She moved his way so she could playfully nudge him with an elbow. "Ah, really? In my experience mechwarriors have limited skillsets."

She laughs after his admission. "I see, I see. That's too many for a casual hook up, and too few for a relationship. Unless..." She steps back, spinning her water bottle in her right hand before grasping it and miming firing it like a gun at Bruun. "She was no nonsense all day. Good to know five's your limit, si? Guess it's important to set a slow pace for you... veteran types."

Felicity was enjoying razzing the First Sergeant.

Bruun takes the barrage in stride, staggering playfully when "shot." He chuckles and hesitates a moment before sharing more.

"I wouldn't say Malia is representative of my history," he says a little vaguely. "We were together, then apart. Then back together for a pretty intense night. So, the two," he gestures with one hand, "and then three more," he waves the other.

[Felicity]

"So, what you're actually saying is that you're like a one shot SRM. I see." Felicity was just being mean now. She knew it too, so she lifted her hands in front of her to ward off reprisal. "Good you have all that experience then, si?"

With a hum of amusement Felicity unscrewed her water bottle so she could splash some on her face and shoulders. "One nice benefit of being a mechwarrior is seeing your lance mates showing a lot of skin. You must be enjoying your assignment First Sergeant. Gillian, Freja, Andrea..." She looked his way and waggled her eyebrows.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun makes a face that suggests he's holding back his first response.

"You be careful about all that sass, young miss," he says in a joking voice. "Disrespecting your elders will get you-- ah, ahem." Bruun had a certain look in his eyes and then turned away, shaking his head.

"Uh, yeah, I never complain about female mechwarriors. Time in the mechs or the sims is good for, ah, scouting," he admits. "Quite a mix around here, but, uh, no bad views." He looks briefly at Fee, now slightly sparkly from the water, and immediately looks away again. Quietly, but not quietly enough, he adds, "Just need to not have Snorri and Marik around."
