It Wasn't That Cold....(Day 15 LA, Bunks)

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea kept a pretty firm handle on her emotions, only a slight coloration of her cheeks suggesting her embarrassment. "...Distant?" She asked, raising a hand up to pat Felicity's head, "Says the young woman latched on to me."

"Did the modifications also give you some feline mannerisms as well? Or is it a case of mannerisms dictating fashion?" Andrea asks with a nervous chuckle. She willed herself to relax at least.

[Felicity]

"Mmrrr!" Felicity cooed happily as Andrea gives her head a pat. "Yea, you can come across as a little distant Andrea. I think you're just shy, si?"

Felicity maneuvered them both about until they could each see the noteputer. She then snuggled into Andrea's side. "I had some feline tendencies to begin with." Felicity answers with a giggle of her own. "But don't worry, I won't bite. Now, look at these with me." She turned her attention to the screen. "Which ones interest you the most?"

"Just a product of my upbringing I suppose." Andrea smiled slightly.

Her attention shifted back to the screen, "The Shadowhawk for one, perhaps the Warhammer...." Her finger reached out and tapped the screen, "But the Battlemaster...to ride such a machine, not even my siblings could claim such. Though Winston does ride an Atlas."

[Felicity]

"I thought only Lyrans were so into assault mechs." She comments without judgment, trying instead to understand it. Felicity turned onto her side to better observe Andrea. Propping her head up on her tucked elbow, she idly reached out to brush Andrea's arm and shoulder with her other hand. "You'd be even more fearsome in the Battlemaster, si? I mean, that would be good for the Company, but I don't quite understand one thing. Why do you need to match your siblings? You are a capable warrior in your own right."

Andrea frowned at that, closing up for a moment...then with a sigh, "Not capable enough. I want to stand above them, be more then the youngest."

"But they make it hard, you would think one of them would just sit on the laurels but they don't...To them and father I am still just the baby. No need to expect much from me, and what's there is clearly from the family line. The warrior blood."

She gently bops Fee's head, "And what about you? Rebellious kitten? No one you have to prove yourself to?"

[Felicity]

The bop was unexpected. She was surprised for just a moment... then she instantly retaliated with a gentle bop to Andrea's bottom. "I'm very rebellious, yea. You should be a little careful or I might nip you after all." She grinned cheekily at Andrea. "I don't have anyone to prove myself too. I am hard on myself however. Eehm, I guess I'd like to show the Major he was wrong to promote First Sergeant Eklund over me. Or you. She's too young and green. It... it irks me a bit. I could understand and accept Bruun, because of his experience, but..." Her ears and tail twitched. She looked moody for a moment.

Fee gently cleared her throat, trying to brush it off. "Maybe you're right. I'd like to show everyone what I can do." She reached for Andrea's hand, moving it to her tail if she allowed. "Can you keep a secret?"

"I am just as green as Eklund," Andrea shrugs, "Even if I am a NAIS graduate. Still it was an odd choice on the Major's part."

"I would say you have proven yourself pretty well though." She turns to look at Fee, "I doubt it is anything that would endanger anyone...so sure if you feel you can trust me."

[Felicity]

"But you are a NAIS graduate. I'm also sure Snorri and I have each seen more fighting than Eklund."

The compliment made her smile. "Really? Thank you!" She felt happy to hear it. Felicity moved her hand off of Andrea's as her tail moved to tail its place. "I feel I can. You've trusted me, si? But, if I do hear anyone talking about this I'm going to murder you... or at least pour syrup all over your violin or something." A dangerous threat?

She scratched her cheek. "Actually, we're really similar in a few ways. Eehm, I left and got this tail and everything because I didn't like all the attention my elder brothers got, or how fake things were. My family weren't... aren't quite a dedicated military one like yours, but the men are all expected to serve. I suppose me even getting Kiara and enlisting was rebellious. They must consider me the biggest black sheep ever." She flopped down onto her bed face first. "My father is a Count and vice-planetary governor of Restitution, my home world. They're nobles. I actually have this stupidly, and I mean stupidly long name. It's always bothered me." She buried her face more into her bed sheets. "When I was sixteen my family were already finding me to be a handful so they wanted to marry me off. I sort of took some money and left for a few years. Pues... the tail and ears came after that." Felicity turned her head to peek at Andrea.

Andrea nodded as Felicity spoke, "There is some similarities though...I dare say my family relationship is not quite as fraught as yours." She smiled, "No talk of my marriage yet at any rate. And father was more interested in making sure I learned war then finding me a spouse. Your family also sounds a bit higher on the noble food chain then my own. But then again Kestrel is one of the great holdings of the Suns."

She rubbed her head, "I imagine he would not react well to come back with those...." Andrea reached out to rub Fee's ears, "A bit too much for his traditional tastes I wager."

"Andrea Océane Laurette DeTroyes...longer then that?" Her hand moves from rubbing the ears to petting.

[Felicity]

"I envy you having a better relationship with your family and not being strongly pushed toward marriage. I always felt like my family wanted to be rid of me." She muses quietly, staring down at the bed once more.

However, she perked up a little as her ears were rubbed. Making a contented purr she gently turns her face back to Andrea. "That's a shame. You would look good with cat ears." She winked and smiled, teasing Andrea a little. "And yea, longer than that. Felicity William Cotterel-Montagu-Harrington. Actually, it's officially Felicity William Cotterel-Montagu-Harrington the Fourth. Isn't that the dumbest thing? My planet has stupidly old traditions on noble names and I became the title holder of a public park. The fourth Felicity in my family to officially oversee it. Except, why would anyone care about that? It was just to make their daughters sound more important. Estúpido."

Her tail flicked about, but the petting was helping. Fee shifted closer to Andrea so she could return the favour. She idly stroked her friend's side. "Kestrel is a lot more important than my home planet. Even I've heard about how beautiful and resource rich it is. Restitution isn't known for that. It has a reputation as a media hub, since a lot of things like drama shows, cheap films and adult media gets filmed or produced there. No surprise really, since we're so close to the Magistracy. Actually, it even used to be a Canopian holding back before the SLDF beat them down along with the rest of the periphery." She frowned slightly for a moment. "That was centuries ago, si, but many periphery folk still seem pretty bitter about it. Anyway, my family don't have anything to do with any of that. They are mostly responsible for governing the majority of lesser holdings on the planet, such as towns and cities that aren't the capital. Eehm, that's Magdeburg by the way. Not that you'll likely ever need to know that." She chuckles slightly. "Think of them like rich mayors that own a lot of land. They're quite shrewd. Powerful and influential on the planet, but not so much off of it. Most folks know the planetary governor and not the deputy after all." She stretches before moving to hug Andrea. "It's nice to be able to share this with someone. How about your family? What do they do? Eehm, aside from military commitments."
