"It's chocolate cake. I heard chocolate cake is the best kind of cake."

Andrea slid into the side of the booth opposite the tech and his daughter, "Chocolate cake..." She tapped the table, "As good a start as any, though best is debatable. Of course wars have probably started over that question so perhaps we should let it lie for now, no?"

"I would hope so, though I have to wonder what we should even expect out here." She frowns in thought, "Pirates mayhaps?"

[Colette Rupelle]

"That I guess would do nicely." Jan nodded. "So you have experience with sweets. With fermentation too?"

"But of course Monsieur Jan. I know more zan you may zink." Colette smile. "Cooking is a science monsieur... But you eat your experiments instead of publishing what ever you encounter. "

"Well, I suppose I would need to try all kinds of cake. Just to be sure."

James smirks. "Thank you for you sacrifice."

[Felicity]

"Chocolate cake is without a doubt a top contender." Felicity opines.

"I don't know, but this is quite far out for pirates. There are locals. Maybe some are bandits that prey on the rest? They probably have really crappy vehicles with guns welded all over them." She chuckled at the mental image. "Periphery style."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea's face scrunches up, "Little glory in smashing a few trucks with old MGs welded to the top."

"But I suppose we will know more soon." She tapped the table, "first though we should concern ourselves with what beverage to accompany the cake."

Bruun chimes in at mention of beverage, leaving offer the back of the booth behind the group.

"On that subject, I believe we had conversed previously, Andrea. What's the verdict on our drink: The good stuff, or the hard stuff? Personally leaning toward the hard stuff, based on that bull--" he remembers Mata just feet away "er, garbage targeting system. But I'm open to persuasion."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"Ah yes," Andrea muses, "Well the café noir will be even more relevant then."

"Very well the hard stuff to mourn your misfortune, my death, and my comrades victory." She glanced down at Mata, "Err though perhaps moderation in present company."

[James Hall]

Neither James nor Mata seemed disturbed by Brunn's almost swear.

As far as reframing from the hard stuff... "Please, don't mind us. I am sure I will have to take Mata to bed before disagreeable effect of drink. Please, drink what you would like."

Mata sighs. "Pirates drank a lot. As long as I get cake, I don't... I do not care."

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun smiles approvingly, both at the choice and the attention to Mata.

"Very good. Be back shortly." And the grumpy mechwarrior heads off with a spring in his step that none of them have probably noticed previously.
