[T-1 Evening] Bon Apetite

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun grunts positively. "Good. Smart."

He looks at Mata. "That's the kind o' way to stay alive as a mechwarrior. Don't get careless. That's my style too. Tonight is celebrating our first team workout. Know how long before I have another drink like this? At least three days. Self discipline keeps people alive, no question."

"Er, sorry Andrea, yes, a drink to the folks who pay the bills seems wise. Sure can't be a bad idea!" He laughs.

[Colette Rupelle]

Colette had promised Mata chocolate cake and she delivered. Single serving of devil's food cake with whipped cream colored sprinkles and a cherry on top. "Did you eat your dinner?"

[James Hall]

Mata nods. "I understand. The pirates that dranks too much were the ones who didn't come back. I do not want become like them." She left off that she suspected that her father and his friend used their drinking as a cover for things to go wrong. But either way, drinking too much was bad.

Colette had promised Mata chocolate cake and she delivered. Single serving of devil's food cake with whipped cream colored sprinkles and a cherry on top. "Did you eat your dinner?"

Mata nods. "Always eat because you never know when you will get to again." As the plate is set down, she thanks the cook, "Thank you," and gives a big smile.

She looks a little in awe of the cake. Her first bite shows that every story she heard about cake was true.

Before she gobbles it down, James warns her, "Go slow. Savor it. Eat it too fast and it will be gone."

Mata nods. "And then three days before I can have it again." She begins to slowly eat the remaining cake, savoring the bites.

James turns to Collette. "Thank you...." what was her title? "Miss Collette." He hoped that was right.

[Colette Rupelle]

"Pas problem... Monsieur James." She smiled. "Maybe petite mademoiselle can help me wiz ze menu for tomorrow's dinner." She looked at Mata. "What would you zink?" Maybe it was for the better to change the subjects from pirate drinking in front of a girl.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"A noble sentiment Miss Felicity, but I have to allow myself a little rakishness every now and then." Andrea swirled the liquid in her glass then raised it, "To The Echo Company, may they find whatever it is they are looking for...and may we make sure nothing stops them." Then she took a drink, presumably with everyone else.

Sitting the glass down she and dipped her head to Colette, « Salut, mademoiselle. »

"Ah yes, a drink or two for warmth while in relative safety is fine. But only a fool drinks to excess especially when danger is near."

[Felicity]

Her cup is held up to join in the toast. "Salud." Good sentiments. Her focus returned to her dinner after having a few sips. The others were more civil than she'd been expecting. She wondered if her past units had just been full of thugs and too much machismo.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun was surprised, even a little disappointed, at how easily Andrea took the strong drink. He chuckles, though no one else around the table would know exactly why.

"I for one strongly support the kid helping to plan meals," he smiles like a kid being offered control of a candy jar. "Mata and Miss Colette will be a fabulous team." Come on, pancakes everyday!

[James Hall]

"I will consider it. Miss Collette, we can talk later about it." Oddly, he seemed uncomfortable about the idea. And he was for a couple of reasons. One reason due to how he was raised. The other because he knew his daughter much better than the others.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea takes another sip of the drink and smiles, though she secretly hopped that if Mata was allowed to help plan meals...restraint would be exercised lest they eat nothing but sweets for the forseeable future.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun takes another drink and looks around the table.

"Well, so by this time tomorrow we have two lance commanders, five fine soldiers, and Bruun," comes a chuckling suggestion. "What do we think, will both lance commanders come from one SIM team?" He gives a pointed look to Andrea but doesn't call anyone out in particular, instead looking to see what the others might reveal.
