Dire Circumstances (Day 1 LM, Mech Hangar)

[Felicity]

"Damn." That was an absolute downside.

[Theodore Beker]

"It is not quite like successfully salvaging an Atlas or anything where you have to stare at it and wonder if maybe you should just sell it and buy an island somewhere," he laughed, "But enough that you will curse and swear when it gets trashed."

[Felicity]

"So, like a PPC, but more so?" Felicity was trying to find the right ballpark.

[Theodore Beker]

"Like a PPC but when it gets wrecked you have to replace it with a medium laser," he smirked, "Maybe a large if you are lucky."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea looked horrified at the 'sell an Atlas' remark, "But...its an Atlas. Even the Davion Guards only have a handful of them!"

[Felicity]

This was something she'd encountered before. Turning to Andrea, Felicity makes makes a sweeping gesture to encompass the hangar. "Exactly. We don't have any really heavy mechs for a reason. This is normal for a mercenary company. An Assault mech is a lot more expensive to maintain and replace parts for. At Atlas is just not ideal for the work we're likely to get. They excel at defensive operations and set location assaults, si? It's slow. We don't need that. It'll also attract more attention from others who would like to salvage it." Felicity gives Theodore a nod. She understood. "There's a reason they're hardly seen outside House forces, and they're not exactly common even in them. Let the Davion Guards and other prestigious units buy any we find. I've only heard of mercenary regiments able to field them. This is our first contract. We could use the money to buy two trooper mechs or a lance of good light mechs. Probably have enough left over for spare parts."

She looked up and mentally checked her math. "That sound about right Theodore?"

[Theodore Beker]

"Listen what you mechwarriors want to do is up to you but I can think of things I'd do with a million c-bills and that's just if I get about a tenth cut of selling a thing like that," he shrugged, "I am sure a confident company could get more money from trying to market it."

[Felicity]

After getting him coffee and agreeing with his sentiments of selling an Atlas, Felicity had not been expecting such a betrayal! She immediately deflated. You mechwarriors. Fine. I'll leave you be.

"Probably, yea. Alright. I'm going to get my noteputer and get ready for an afternoon patrol. We're obligated to scout around at least once a day. I'll get out your hair." She waved with minimal effort to the damaged mechs. "I'll let you get on. Enjoy the coffee."

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"Ah...yes of course," Andrea brushed some imagined dirt from her chest, embarrassed, "...still used to the sword and sunburst. Still, it would end a lot of arguments over who has superior firepower no?"

"And I suppose it it is above all three of our paygrades. Such a decision would have to be hashed out between the Major and our employers."

[Felicity]

Now Andrea was making sense. Felicity nods eagerly. "It really would. If we did have to go up against an Atlas I wouldn't be surprised if we lost half our mechs or more." Scary things.

"Yea. No idea what the exact specifics are. We ought to ask when we find something salvageable... although, it'll really kill my enthusiasm if we do find an Atlas and then have to hand it over."
