[D3, EA, Simulator Room, closed] Vanguard Meeting

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun, the still-amazed, still-unhappy leader of Vanguard Lance, had called for his lance mates to attend a private meeting to debrief the lumber mech fight and anything else they needed to talk about. He would have preferred someplace with better seats -- and booze, he admitted, after the last couple of days -- but the simulator room was quiet and private: maybe the most important things as the team was still getting to know each other.

"My God, the things I'm learning to worry about in this goddamn job."

[Freja Fogel]

Freja showed up without any sort of fanfare, half-looking like she was lost and not sure where she was right now.

"Uhm..."

She did not finish the thought, before trying to find some sort of makeshift seat.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

Andrea was next to arrive. She dipped her head at Freja in acknowledgement as she passed. Snapping to attention with a click of her heels. "First Sergeant." She relaxed and took a seat, leaning back and crossing her arms. Andrea gave her lance leader an amicable smile.

[Dorgan Bruun]

"Afternoon, Fogel," Bruun says with a welcoming smile. He waves his hands a little awkwardly. "Damn. Should have done this some place where I could offer coffee."

When Andrea arrives, Bruun shakes his head at the military precision but also smiles, still figuring out what to make of the Davion woman.

[Gillian Chow]

"Something wrong, First Sergeant?" Gillian asked as she entered the room to hear Bruun cursing. Joining the other mech warriors, she automatically stood in a parade rest, as if from long habit.

[Comstar]

Somewhere, in the distance, the briefing room and it's coffee maker felt lonely and forgotten.

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun grunts. "Nah, Chow, I'm just... figuring out all the parts of this first sergeant business. Part commander, part mentor, part god-damn party planner..."

"Anyway. Glad you're all here on time. I want to debrief yesterday's fight and then anything else you wanna talk about. First: thoughts from you all. What worked and what didn't work yesterday?" Bruun is all-business in talking about the battle around the lumber mech.

[Andrea DeTroyes]

"We seemed to have escaped relatively in unharmed," Andrea shrugs, "The fire support lance had the worse of it..."

She uncrosses her arms and leans forward, "But I assume you are unsatisfied with our performance?"

[Dorgan Bruun]

Bruun raises an eyebrow at what he sees as defensiveness. "Just because it worked out in the end don't mean it was all sunshine and rainbows. Maybe some of us were a little cocky, when it started as just some tanks, but when the major says 'Vanguard, take point,' we better end up leading the way, not bounding off on the flank."

Bruun's voice gets a little prickly, but he keeps it pretty level.

Andrea raises a brow at that, "Ah..." Was all she said then rubbed her head. Her expression was closed but not hostile.
