"I went to University on a corporate grant, the corporation folded after paying for my education, but Echo bought up the debt. That's how I ended up out here, instead of doing research back home"

Did Echo know about this planet? Was the original story just a cover? James had been betrayed by clients before. He didn't like the idea. But the salvage did seem a bit too generous if they were expecting to find SLDF here. "Well, you're certainly proving your worth. But if you weren't in debt, where would you want to be?"

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"I don't know, honestly, maybe a less dangerous dig location? I mean we have already discovered enough on this planet to write several papers, it makes me wonder how many other backwaters out there are hiding such treasure troves."

"I suppose the most valuable thing we can find is a map. If we could find an old map and compare it to what we have now, we'd be able to see what worlds were forgotten or lost. It'd at increase our chances to find Lostech."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"We have a lot of old maps back in Olympia, full maps of the star league era worlds we could compare at any time. This planet was nuked to the stone age so there was an assumption that nothing survived"

[James Hall]

"I see. I thought a lot of that was lost. But I still think it might be work checking out the other worlds. Worse case scenario, the nations could rebuild the worlds if there are survivors such as on this one."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"Most of the Nations of the Inner Sphere aren't interested in helping people, only in funding thier war machines. They won't waste resources on rim world exploration. Even private corporations like Echo its a big risk for little reward. If they hadn't picked up the distress signal while doing mining operations I doubt we would be here"

[James Hall]

James sighs. "And yet they all think they are worthy of being the First Lord of a new Star League."

[Dr. Reinhardt]

"Not really, I think they gave up on the new star league about 200 years and 3 succession wars ago. No one wants to bring it back anymore, they just want to rule thier own little corners of space."
