Watching the progress on the monitor, he added, "I'm not sure what kind of firepower these Black Dragons are bringing, but I'll be surprised if we get off so easy this time."

"I am sure she would like that. It would also her allow her to experience G's. I'm sure there is a difference between hearing about them and feeling them."

James ponders. "Hmmm... I think they will at least be a more honorable enemy than the pirates, but I don't understand them. My grasp on national politics is hampered considering how long I was with the pirates? But doesn't the Draconis Combine oppose them? If they did somehow conquer the Rasa, then do they think they will be accepted back? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but Kurita isn't exactly known for welcoming insubordination?" James shrugs.

[Alexei Herald]

"Yes - though I imagine they think if they are victiorious they can present a fait accompli... or maybe they simply are in so deep they don't see any way out but forward."

Alexei sighed, and added, "Either way, they're dangerous, because they have a lot to gain and very little left to lose."

[James Hall]

"It may not be the worst thing. We might be able to get at least the the lower ranking people if we catch them. Give them a chance to work for us, get them out of the predicament." James shakes his head. That relies on them being honorable. "Well, maybe that is wishful thinking."

[Alexei Herald]

"Very. Combine soldiers, especially ones this driven... believe in victory or death."

He sighed. "We'll likely see them die by our guns or their own hands. I wonder about that ship, however - it would not surprise me if they had commandeered it - in which case the crew would likely welcome the chance to escape with their ship and their lives, should we win the ground battle."

James nods. "That's unfortunate. But if we can save the ground crew. Well, no reason to waste lives."

[Alexei Herald]

"Indeed. It's a bit of a rule among dropship crews. If the other guy wasn't involved... you let him go."

A faint sigh. Never knew when you'd be the one hijacked instead.
