Poor readings (Day 1, LA, Alchor Highlands)

[Felicity]

Felicity grinned herself. "She's calling you a moron Snorri. I think her hypothesis is not without merit, si?" From her jovial expression it was quite likely she was trying to engage in some banter.

Reaching into her pack, Felicity dug out her blanket. "Are we staying here longer Miss Winters?"

[Snorri Tycho]

"Oh, the idea certainly seems to have merit Sergeant C.M. Harrington" Snorri returns with a grin, favoring the overly complicated last name for the tiny girl. "And Director Winters would have a point that a machine carrying it would it a great deal easier."

"But, my dumb ass doesn't mind hauling around something this time. At least while I'm broadcasting." Snorri pulls out a Video Imager and takes it on a sweep. "I'm broadcasting this back as we go. I want to try to get a map of the terrain as best we can around here, and the battery power in the imager doesn't offer great odds. And yes, my mech would be a lot quicker, but there's lot of folk who will get real tetchy as we roll them out. This shouldn't ruffle as many feathers, and with luck, we know the best points to rally, hold and flank any nasty visitors we attract. In my moronic opinion ma'am"

[Felicity]

Felicity immediately shut up and glared at Snorri. Thank you for nothing Major. It seems she could dish it out, but not take it! Or he'd touched a nerve.

At Snorri's explanation Felicity snorts dismissively, but her glare morphed into a hard stare. A slight easing of hostilities? Maybe he'd said something not so dumb.

[Lucretzia Winters]

Lucretzia just nodded at the explanation, and then responded to Felicity's first question.

"Am I causing you trouble? If so, we can return."

Lucretzia was remarkably ambivalent sounding.

"Anastasia just wanted some air, so I offered to drive her out here. She should be able to find her way back, however, and I'm sure she'd understand if I was causing trouble by being out here."

Something about how she said it was... hard to decipher. Was she teasing, or being spiteful?

[Snorri Tycho]

Snorri offers a bark of laughter.

"Respectfully speakin' ma'am, but we're mercs. We find ourselves in the business because we find ourselves in trouble quite naturally, so we have made a living out of getting sent into it. Having us deal with trouble is what you paid for and if I can get a bit of extra leg work done in the process, all the better."

He flashes a grin over at Fee, only to realize she was glaring at him.

What was that about? Is she thinking that I'm flirting with the client?

[Felicity]

"You're fine Miss." Felicity adds in agreement. "It's just not exactly warm out."

She began wrapping her blanket around her legs and waist.

[Lucretzia Winters]

"Oh, I forgot you mechwarriors dress down."

She nodded, and then turned her gaze back to the rolling hills and scrub, tall grass swaying in the wind.

There was an extended, somewhat uncomfortable silence.

[Snorri Tycho]

"I don't know, I got enough heat in the sims the other day that the cold hasn't set in yet. Either that or its the Rasalhague stock that they didn't manage to beat out of me" Snorri is non-specific to whom he is referring.

He picks up his camera and performs a sweep, trying to not anything of tactical importance or use. "Are you looking for anything in particular Director Winters?"

[Lucretzia Winters]

"At the moment, my sister."

Her tone was dry, with a hint of annoyance, though the target of the annoyance wasn't clear.

As for anything of note... there were some rather impressive barns - those must've taken a while to build. Otherwise, this particular segment of Asphodel was an image of pastoral charm, apart from the massive charred circle where the Calico had touched down.

[Felicity]

"She also left your transport? Need us to look for her?" Felicity had a sudden bad feeling. She must have missed it when watching their surroundings and then getting out of her mech.
