He smiled at the girls reply, but didn't comment further. "Just browsing." Thom replied with a shrug, giving a polite nod to the tiny cook.

"No idea what they would have here after all. How about yourself?"

"Well, this is some distant Periphery nation. I was hoping to find some treasure that the locals didn't realize the importance of." He looks around. "Well, apparently, that sort of thing only happens in the stories."

The market was so full of things, that simply browsing could take days - it was a small place, but it was packed with merchandise, and not in a very organized way, and some stalls spilled out into nearby streets when they sold larger parts and salvage.

It seemed they would need to at least seek a specific sort of thing, to have any hope of starting to sort through the options.

Or at least, to help the invisible powers that be know what sort of things they might want to find.

Mata was looking for some sort of stuffed animal. She remembered the pirates' children having them and wanted one for herself. Sadly, her father wouldn't let her take one after the mercs came and killed the pirates. She had to beat up the owner first, but by then, the pirates' kids were all taken away.

James himself had no particular want or need. He was mainly here for others. If he could find something special, he'd be interested, but.... well, his player rolled a 10 on investigation/perception, so he's lucky he saw that he was in the market.

"It's possible." Thom replied thoguhtfully. "Won't hurt to look at least."

Thomas was looking for weapons and bullets himself... Also checking on what they used as currenncy here. Was it Cbills? Or somethign else entirely.

"Bateries!" Colette exclaimed. She would need a power source and a transmitter if she want it to work. "A l'aventure!" She giggled.

The currency appeared to be some sort of metal disc, fairly small, but certainly less convenient that foldable, tradable CBills. There were several kinds, of apparently different values.

As for the specifics... it would require some Investigation(/perception) to see what they could make out in the arrangement.

There certainly were weapons, though all of them were somewhere between 'antique' and 'rust' in condition and manufacture.

Power sources and transmitters, those would require a bit of searching indeed.

Stuffed animals... there weren't any around this part of the market.

Colette started browsing but wasn't sure if she could find what she was looking for. She needed batteries for what she planed on doing. Colette looked at James. "Monsieur James can you help me find ze batteries? If you do I could make Petite Mademoiselle a plushie."

"Well, I think we're pretty out of luck as far as currency goes." Thomas reported after a few moments. "Unless they'll accept trade. They don't use cbills."

[James Hall]

"Well, let's see if there's anything we want. Then we can worry about that."

James nods to Collette. "Sure." And though he didn't really find more than Collette.

As he looked, he asked Thomas, "So, how long have you served the company? Or are a new hire like most of us?"
