As they approached, they found, to their surprise, a light inside the control panel, very weakly glowing.

It still had power, even though all the bulbs had burned out.

It marked 4 floors.

"Break Room, Admin, Observation, Flight Control?

[Thomas Moreno]

"Nice to know you care." Thomas replied with a playful wink ar Karlotta. "That seems likely." He replied to the doctor. "Do we want to risk it or try the emergency stairs first?"

[Jan Novak]

"I can walk." Jan quipped.

[Karlotta Roth]

"I was going to joke on taking the elevator, but I won't, because you would really do it. That thing has not been cared for in centuries. It could snap at any moment. There isn't an option outside the stairs or climbing that on the outside."

[Comstar]

Kamaitachi groaned. "That many stairs? Really? Maybe this is one of those Star League elevators with the wheels."

She didn't step inside, but she did appear to be seriously considering it.

[Thomas Moreno]

"Stairs can fall too, depending on how they are made." Thomas replied as he moved towards the do not open door. "But if there is no basement then we won't be falling far."

He paused a moment looking the door over to see if it looked recently used.

"Well we at least know the elevator doesn't service any underground levels." He smiles, "I would say we take the stairs unless or until it proves impassable. Check one floor at a time and clear each. Flight Control will likely be our richest target if we can make it there, but I don't want to leave anything behind that might be useful or a threat by getting in a hurry"

[Karlotta Roth]

"Signal should be coming from the admin or observation. We should be at break room right now." She looks at the door, but perceives Thomas is investigating something there and does not take a step, instead looking at their back again just to be safe.
