The old man smiled and looked surprised. "You did cook something. I'm surprised. I figured you'd have flown off to some better planet to get what you needed."

Colette giggled. "Well we are on a scientific mission. Zings didn't go as expected and we are sort of stuck." She nodded. "I keep my promises Monsieur."

The mech outside draws interested looks, but otherwise no comment.

Some children attempt to play on it, but are pulled back by their parents.



The man nodded to Colette, "I appreciate the good faith, young missy. Where are you from?"

Taking the meal, he sniffed it, curiously.

"I was in a planet called Woodstock. zen I got drafted to zis mission." She giggled. "We are trying to find zings about zis place. Ze weird transmision from ze tower is one. Do you know anyzing about zat?"

"Me? I don't know much, I used to scavenge till I tripped some trap and an ancient turret blew me leg off."

The man sighed.

"Now I scratch together this mess and live on what people buy out of pity."

Colette tilted her head. "Even if zis is not ze best way of living at least you are still amongst us." She nodded. " And you can be productive even wiz out your leg. Besides scrapping what else can you do?"

"I can beg, barter, and sleep."

The man chuckled.

"Feels like it's mighty hard to teach an old dog new tricks, young missy."

"It is never too late to learn!" Colette giggled. "Lets see what you have and what we can do! Maybe we can make some toys for ze children."
